New draftees dummy.

JFaS ur so dum

On that note then, who are your long shots (yet somewhat realistic) to break camp in 2016? Pentecost for backup C?

Maybe that's not long enough odds... Dwight Smith Jr? Vladdy Jr? OK...maybe too optimistic ;)

I don't see Pentecost being added to the 40 man. If Navarro is traded, backup catcher will come down to Thole or Jimenez with the later being the dark horse but since they both have options, the opportunity to steal the job shoud theoretically be there. Pentecost needs to rehab his injury and work his way up to the high minors before even getting consideration.

I think the best place to look for long shots is among the non-roster invitees: http://mlb.mlb.com/team/roster_nri.jsp?c_id=tor

I'd say the most realistic long shots would be some of the pitchers. I really like Infante myself.

actually Admin was premature (again) we agreed to wait until pitchers and catchers report.

Lucroy will miss 4-6 weeks.

Navarro to Brewers?

They have a good glove, bad bat guy in Maldonado. Putting a bad glove, good bat guy in front of him probably isn't worth the money it would cost.

Shut up.

If the likes of Axford just got minor league deals can't see dustin get anything more

I expect him back here

Considering its not only the minor league deal aspect that the Jays want, but the major league pay portion to be very low as well (sub $1.5 that Belisario was going to get), I don't see the Jays being able to get any of these remaining guys unless they move from that stance. AA seems to think that they can improve the bullpen from within and with luck and chance that Delabar et al. can recover from bad years, and return to dominance. While they certainly could, and if you're going to leave things to luck and chance, the bullpen is probably the only position where you can get away with that, BUT... the issue here is depth.

If theyre going to go on the cheap depending on hope and chance, in a season which they NEED to make the playoffs, they NEED better depth at the position in case that Delabar cant come back, in the case the Cecil's and Loup's have down years (luck and chance can swing the other way too), and in the case of injuries.

Right now, to contend, theyre counting on 1. No down seasons from those who had good seasons last year. 2. Bounceback seasons from those who had down seasons last year. 3. the establishment into full time productive major leaguers by Drabek, Jenkins, and Sanchez, and 4. No injuries.

Luck has to be on our side at some point...but risking the season on it...not a good plan AA.
