Anyone care to predict Kang's slash line in Pitt? (.275/.320/.425) is my prediction with 15-18 HRs

That would make an excellent middle infielder.

I'll go .245/.290/.415

This is going to be interesting to say the least becuase i don't remember who that last person to come over from a Korean league to have success..... I have always though of the Korean league as less talented than a Javanese league and maybe this is just my ignorance. You got to trust your scouts in a case like this.

I'm starting to think (maybe always have thought) Travis was the 2B acquisition for this off season and AA is content going into the season with him,Izzy,Tolleson and Goins competing for the starting job in the spring. Guys like Burns,Schimpf,Berti,Diaz will be on the outside looking in and could be longshots if they have an exceptional spring.

When Lowrie came off the board for less than 8M and only 3 years my expectations for an upgrade at 2B went out the window.

Lowrie took a home discount to sign with the Astros.

Probably would have taken around 3/33 for us

I find it highly unlikely he'd leave 10M on the table just to be closer to his mothers tit.

You need to consider tax considerations. He's not leaving 10M on the table, it's actually quite a bit less than that

Me been saying the bolded part for some time. I really don't disagree with him unless a really good deal presented itself, of course.

One of the things people keep bringing up against Travis is the fact that "he hasn't played above AA". However, I don't think it's out of the question to say he deserved a promotion to AAA to end the the year even after his slow start, which some attribute to his being injured early in the season, but regardless.

AA is looking for a stopgap that can also back up Reyes which makes sense to me.
