You're projecting. He doesn't really bombard people with his lifestyle, but folks like you are shocked at how he lives so it gets a lot of play. I've seen more tweets of sneakers from Stroman or Reyes than I've seen Norris pics. Also I know a few people that live like that, A couple of them are just hippies, But one of them is the smartest guy I know. Some people just love nature and don't care for the comforts that make others happy.

Tampering vs blackmail which is the greater offense? This plus holding a employee hostage, not like contracts are never broken... So he has a clause like most that says he can leave for a promotion is that not a standard clause for most coaches and gm types?

 

You don't give a GM a 4 year extension with an opt-out clause for a promotion. There isn't a higher position anyway other than owner. So unless the Jays are making DD the owner it isn't a promotion.

He got lucky, You can't build a club designed to win all the 1 run games. He's not the worst GM, just can't think of any good moves he made other than the Cruz signing.

My guess would be the Jays would be stripped of draft picks...1st rounders...don't know if for just one draft, or multiple....it could impact their ability to sign players in the IFA market...and I'm sure there would be monetary fines as well. Of course, I'm just speculating, but those are the types of penalties I wouldn't be surprised seeing.

 

All this said, I still don't believe the compensation will be anything worth getting upset over. I'm thinking marginal prospect...always have.

 

I guess you don't know how stuborn and vindictive Peter Angelos is. He would sooner make DD the scout of the Iraq/Syria/Lebanon region than let him go to the Blue Jays for a marginal prospect.
