The amount of butthurt this ArtVanDelay guy must be feeling is off the charts.

 

Why would anyone want to move from BALTIMORE to TORONTO? Case closed.

I spent a couple hours over their, seems the guys in Admin are the real problem.

 

And you have to pay to get full posting privileges there. It's truly incredible what a cesspool that place is. It makes the Angels board look like they are discussing string theory.

Paying gives you access to their "insider" content on the Orioles and the minor leagues and full posting privileges for posts 501+; every registered member gets large avatars, reputation taking, etc. for the first 500 posts. The membership types and features received are quite convoluted. They have a trial plus membership that is $5 for 30 days, otherwise it's $8.85 every 90 days. Paid trial membership are pretty dumn.

 

Also, they'll ban you for constant grammar abuse lol. Some posters on our board regularly violate every one of their rules.

There are only two reasons DD won't be the Jays' CEO in less than a year:

 

1) Dan does not want the job.

2) The Jays don't want Dan for the job.

 

Compensation will not be a roadblock. Comp for exec movement is often just a formality for optics and/or appreciation. If both of the above points turn out to be false, the Orioles will be dealing from a position of weakness. They may have 'contractual obligations' on their side, but the MLB and DD would be opposed and that can create a pretty toxic environment. It would be in their best interest to let this process resolve itself ASAP so they can either find a replacement or move on and focus on the offseason. PA's responses come off as childish and unprofessional, although it explains a lot about why the Oriole fans act the way they do.

What I stated was for those that are trying to complicate this issue with potential comp packages and PA's resistance to letting DD go. Both of which do not matter when it comes to DD being a replacement for Beeston.

Hey guys, Orioles fan here! Personally, I think DD should be allowed to go. I'm a teacher, and this really seems like if I wanted to go to a rival school to be a department chairman. It should just be allowed. What I do think that sucks is the timing. I mean, for all we know this could have been talked about since the end of the World Series, I guess it's all just speculation.

 

I just think it should be done. There's no sense in having someone unhappy doing the a job. The only thing I don't like is how close to the season we are and this situation is going on. He's a good GM and it does feel sucky that he would be leaving. I've suffered a lot as an O's fan. I was so young the last time they were relevant, so I enjoyed the recent success.
