wardhenke1 Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 As per title: http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/11974599/nick-markakis-agrees-deal-atlanta-braves Saunders says no need for Nick? On the plus side, Orioles lose more....
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Fits quite nicely on the ATL mantle beside those Uggla and Upton contracts.
wardhenke1 Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 It happened a couple of hours ago and has not been discussed on the forum. Yesterday people were saying he was in our back pocket. How the f*** is this old news? Seriously some days it feels like you could rub every brain cell together on this forum and not get a spark.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Fits quite nicely on the ATL mantle beside those Uggla and Upton contracts. This is the worst one yet. Not only is Markakis an inferior player, but they're rebuilding. That team is being run into the ground.

That team is being run into the ground. John Hart has no time for Sabermetrics. Nick plays the game the right way, battles at the dish, is great in the clubhouse and in the community, and he's got a cannon for an arm.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 60 hit, 50 game power, 60 defense, 60 arm. first division talent

wardhenke1 Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Author Posted December 4, 2014 My whole point in this thread is that with Markakis gone and with the Jays acquiring Saunders, will the Orioles now sign Cabrera? Seems likely to me, but..

Seems likely to me, but.. It's possible but not necessary. De Aza might not even be worse than Melky. Seattle could go after Leche if they don't land Upton.
labadee Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 As nice as it would be not to lose a draft pick. Melky in Baltimore is a scary thought. He will coming for blood. Yea, The O's fallback option was supposed to be Melky. Should be interesting to see what happens

Nah, im not scared of Melky on the Orioles. He's not THAT good of a hitter. He's obviously above-average, but he's not a game-changer
