jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Roark was like a #2 starter this year lol. This game isn't going to get increasingly more sloppy as regular season extra innings games do. I was only 10 when the Braves/Astros game went 18 but I remember it vividly. Yes, I remember that too... Roger Clemens pitched that game in the very late innings, and Chris Burke hit a walkoff to send the Astros to the NLCS vs. the Cardinals (the Astros eventually lost in the World Series to the White Sox, in one of their very few World Series appearances.)
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 This is going to affect both teams when the series returns to SF on Monday.. both bullpens are going to be gassed. Lucky they have good starters..

Lucky they have good starters.. Why will they be gassed? Everyone but Petit and Stammen threw an inning or fewer, and they get an off-day. They'll be refreshed.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Petit is going Chad Jenkins on dey ass. Yes he is.. 6 innings of relief!
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 We have now tied the MLB record for longest postseason game by innings, and have broken the time record.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Inconsistent playing time. Obviously hes had injuries. If hes 100% healthy I wouldn't mind taking a shot on him. Better than what we currently have. His peripherals are untenable though. Doesn't walk, strikes out 30% of the time, not a huge BABIP guy, unspectacular batted ball profile, etc. I don't think there's anything there. I like Jed Lowrie a lot better as a cheap-ish second base option.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Of course, if this game goes any longer, we might see starters pitching.. which could affect rotations in Games 3 and 4.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Of course, if this game goes any longer, we might see starters pitching.. which could affect rotations in Games 3 and 4. Tanner Roark is a starter! He could go 8+ innings. Lincecum could go long for the Giants. Anyone want to make predictions on what inning this game will end? I'll go with #20. No, because I want to cheer for it to never end! Making a prediction would affect that.
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 Of course, if this game goes any longer, we might see starters pitching.. which could affect rotations in Games 3 and 4. Petit = Starter (in September and spot starts throughout the season), hence the 6 IP

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Petit is going Chad Jenkins on dey ass. Yeah, although Petit was stretched out heading into the playoffs. Jenkins was basically a 1 inning guy.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Oh. Giants still have Hunter Strickland so they'll win for sure.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Brandon Belt FINALLY breaks the tie! 2-1 Giants.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Put a small parlay bet on the Giants and Dodgers tonight. Let's go Giants! Looking good!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Want Nats to tie it up in the bottom
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 Want Nats to tie it up in the bottom Same, but just for shits and giggles
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I want the Giants to win too but after the Nats tie this up lol

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Someone needs to put that owl in the crowd out of it's misery.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Ca mon Strickland strike this homeless guy out.
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 Gotta send Rendon here don't u? Not sure of his speed but 17-3 this season...
