jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 doesn't he have a preg wife? And we did bench him for the rest of the year. I wouldn't have said it....but i would feel the same with a 6% at playoffs riding the bench with a preg wife on a team that doesn't want me.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 That guy is a cancer Just like Joey Bats doesn't have much trade value, right?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 if they advertised it as Campbell will be hammered, then some people may have actually went. I've heard he's an entertaining drunk
SAAviour Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I fnd this hard to believe but if true then Colby Rasmus is a serious waste. Wasted talent already and doesn't realize how good he has it. His only excuse is if his wife is due immenintly, even then part of playing mlb and making millions is making family sacrifices, suck it up and take 3 days off for paternity leave then spend the offseason with family, then move your family to whatever team is dumb enough to sign him.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 If true, sit your ass down Colby and come in to hit PH homeruns when you're told to. Fkin 15 million dollar talent, $2.99 brain.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 PitchTalks looks like a pretty fun event. The last one had Shi, Stoeten and Jeremy Taggert. Lol Sid Sixeiro too.

baseballsss Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 who gives a s*** that he said that, the guys been doing exactly what was asked of him. He hasn't walked out on the team.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 To hear this from Rasmus` mouth now ,really really sucks. We are in a race, and for him to say this now,and after how well he has been doing as a PH,is mystifying. Can these guys not just shut their mouth to the media. If he meant to say he misses his wife, and wished he could be there for the birth, then that would have been much better to say. Hope he still does a good job PH-ing for us.
GNick49 Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Just like Joey Bats doesn't have much trade value, right? Makes you think you wouldn't get something for Bautista? Some people just don't have 2 clues!

Rasmus is a cancer. Jays played best they have in 15 years back in May when he was on the DL. Now 9-2 since he was benched. Cardinals after they traded him when immediately from .500 team to World Series. Happening 3 times can't be a fluke
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 FFS though, something must have happened that we don't know about.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Colby's 2013 was not sustainable. High BABIP and terrible walk rate/high K's. He is Vernon Wells without the big peak year. He might have another 4 WAR season in him, but it sure as hell won't be the norm. Let someone else sign him long term.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 This is all hearsay and Rasmus has a right to be pissed. He shouldn't vocalize that frustration though. He's in a contract year. Has he been wonderful? No. Has he been JPA god awful? Absolutely not. He has 3 hit in his last 6 plate appearances off the bench with 2 being home runs. The decision for him not to play is coming from AA. The Jays have inched back closer to being in this thing and Rasmus is seeing lessor players starting ahead of him.

I believe I had my highest percentage of hard balls or line drives since I've been in the big leagues but the lowest average on balls in play. Not true at all about the babip and your also striking out a career high 33% of the time Colby, therefore making less contact....use your brain a bit.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Rasmus' defense fell off a cliff this year too. WTF happened to the guy?

This is what happens Colby when you are a high strikeout, dead pull hitter. The whole purpose of the shift is to take away hard hit balls to the pull side. So it's not the fact that you are unlucky, you are just not very good.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Rasmus' defense fell off a cliff this year too. WTF happened to the guy? Best guess: Mentally fragile, doesn't adapt well to changes in coaching staff, distracted/nervous/second guessing all the time.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Colby is obviously gone this year On a negative note, the Gose/Pillar platoon is not looking so good this past month - neither have convinced me they'll be able to provide even remotely acceptable plate performance even in a strict L/R platoon. 1. We HAVE to retain Melky 2. We may need to acquire a better 4th OF who bats right
Statman Verified Member Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Rasmus' defense fell off a cliff this year too. WTF happened to the guy? Tony LaRusa, John Farrell, living in a big city, firing Motolla, playing on turf. It's not his fault.
