JuniorFelix Verified Member Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Listening to Pillar on the fan right now...I totally missed what transpired between he and Gibby earlier in the season before Pillar was sent down. Can someone please explain what took place between them that caused the rift? Thanks.
JuniorFelix Verified Member Posted August 28, 2014 Author Posted August 28, 2014 Thanks guys. I had seen the clip King posted but didn't know what led up to it. Cheers.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Pillar showed some nice hustle last night. You can tell he doesn't want to go back to Buffalo ever again lol
sdyment Verified Member Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 It would be nice to have an OBP type hitter to exceed expectations. Loving his baserunning instincts as well.

kgm1 Verified Member Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Never been a Pillar fan but he has done nothing but succeed at every level except at the majors. With the lack of position players in the higher minors we need Pillar to succeed here. Does anyone think Pompey can make the jump next year?
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 i must admit, as one of the pillar haters earlier in the season his grit has really grown on me. i hope he has a great september
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Hopefully he can take the time he's been given now and run with it. He seems to be busting his ass on every play and chance. He's probably fully aware the Jays have two FA OF so he wants a spot or to show he can do it at a fraction of the cost.

Does he have a Reed Johnson type of upside? What a great reg/bench type of player that would be. edit: phone + la fin du monde = poor formatting

He'd be a useful 4th outfielder. Hoping they let Rasmus walk and go with Gose/Pillarin CF next season.

DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 What about Pompey? Id like to see him force his way up next year. Gose and Pillar could both start the year in AAA as well if he really impresses in September and has a good camp

Gose and Pillar could both start the year in AAA as well if he really impresses in September and has a good camp I'd like to see Pompey get more than 600 PA above AA before he even sniffs the majors. September call up next year at the earliest unless he's on so much fire that he forces their hand.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 he goes all out on them. That's what she said.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Does anyone think Pompey can make the jump next year? Sure. But I want to see him spend a full 3 months in Buffalo first. There's absolutely no reason to rush him.
