Kevin Pillar vs Gibby...can someone please explain?

Listening to Pillar on the fan right now...I totally missed what transpired between he and Gibby earlier in the season before Pillar was sent down.

 

Can someone please explain what took place between them that caused the rift?

Never been a Pillar fan but he has done nothing but succeed at every level except at the majors. With the lack of position players in the higher minors we need Pillar to succeed here.

Does anyone think Pompey can make the jump next year?

i must admit, as one of the pillar haters earlier in the season his grit has really grown on me. i hope he has a great september

Hopefully he can take the time he's been given now and run with it. He seems to be busting his ass on every play and chance. He's probably fully aware the Jays have two FA OF so he wants a spot or to show he can do it at a fraction of the cost.

Agreed. Easy guy to cheer for at times.

 

Does he have a Reed Johnson type of upside? What a great reg/bench type of player that would be.

Id like to see him force his way up next year. Gose and Pillar could both start the year in AAA as well if he really impresses in September and has a good camp

I'd like to see Pompey get more than 600 PA above AA before he even sniffs the majors. September call up next year at the earliest unless he's on so much fire that he forces their hand.

Sure. But I want to see him spend a full 3 months in Buffalo first. There's absolutely no reason to rush him.
