TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Is this for real? Why are they even continuing then. Is it possible for MLB to simply sanction the ump crew without replaying the game? No way in hell will they rule for a replay if the consequence is so severe. There are several options. They could even uphold the protest and still not resume the game (as has been done a few times in the past) they could state that it's still a judgement call on the umpires part and they missed that both pitcher and batter were ready. Umpire judgments can't be protested.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Longoria had no chance on that fastball
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Navarro is a LOT better than JPA.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Longoria had no chance on that fastball a 99 mile an hour fastball that the bottom drops out of......nobody in baseball has a chance with that pitch.
nmrch Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Its amazing how effective Sanchez has been in the majors despite being a one pitch pitcher with so so fastball command, his curveball is not generating any swings and misses, that's a concern moving forward. You're not always going to get away with letting batters go from 0-2/1-2 to 2-2/3-2 on a routine basis, he needs that hammer curve to put them away
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Navarro is a LOT better than JPA. Lets not use JPA as acceptable bar for catching. Navarro is decent. Defense matters, pitch framing is also very important in this era. Navarro provides very little of both. Decent hitter for a catcher
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I like how low Rodriguez gets at first, that guy can play
Vincent Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 This team needs HR or they can't win baseball games.
Vincent Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Navarro is a LOT better than JPA. There's no question about it.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Bautista with some awful ABs today.
jays76 Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Kind of s***** that the protest is hanging over this game.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Trade him this off season for maximum return.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Another game from 4th inning on with 1 out.
nmrch Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 So if the Rays win the protest what exactly happens. Do you have to play an entire new game? no, if the Rays win the protest is nullified.

Hopefully they don't.

MrMariusz Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Is Gibbons trying to lose this game?
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I am ordering a game ending DP here
nmrch Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Is Gibbons trying to lose this game? What does Gibbons have to do with Jansenn walking the leadoff batter?
ParkdaleTdot Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Why are we watching. None of thie counts. Rays will clearly win protest If MLB is truly trying to get things right, then dude was out. To over turn a victory because of 1 out (where the guy was actually out on replay) would just solidify my beliefs that the league does indeed try to shaft the jays
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Should've just kept in Sanchez. Ugh Janssen.
MrMariusz Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 JEEZES CHRIST. Need a fcking DP.
rookiefuzz Verified Member Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Navarro's pitch calling is fantastic. You notice the difference when Tholes catching. IE: when he called for that curveball from Sanchez in Milwakee with 2 guys on that was almost sent out of the park when Sanchez didnt have the curveball going.
