BTS Community Moderator Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 What's Francisco going to make, like $3 million? You can reasonably expect him somewhere in the 105-115 wRC+ range vs. RHP, and he can play 3B without butchering it. That makes him an asset on a team with an injury-prone DH that still needs his option picked up, and an injury-prone 3B that might not even play 3B next year. I think he should be offered arb.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 He's nothing to be excited about. But for a guy on the bench who can hit RHP at an above average clip is useful IMO. He's not the kind of guy you want coming off the bench though. He strikes out above 35% of the time and is limited to a corner infield and can't hit lefties at all. He is also going to make at least 3 million$ in arb.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Refreshing words from Gibby: Runs have been hard to come by for the Blue Jays this month but manager John Gibbons doesn't want to see his hitters change their approach especially when it comes to some of the bigger names in the lineup. One example that sticks out occurred Sunday vs. the White Sox when Jose Reyes led off the game with a double and was then bunted over to third base by Melky Cabrera. It was a selfless act by Cabrera, but also not the smartest idea according to his manager. Toronto did get the one run but there was the potential for much more, especially since Cabrera has been among the league leaders in hits all season. "You don't want to do that, that early," Gibbons said Tuesday afternoon. "One of the best hitters, hottest hitters. Go for the big inning. Sometimes you play for one run, that's all you get, and we barely got that. "He was trying to be a team guy and get us on the board. That early, you're looking at a big inning, especially the way he's swinging it."

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 At least Francisco is having good Abs lately..
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Damm. Should have used Stroman here. lol
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 You just referenced wRC+ and fielding percentage in the same post. Amazing. If their first grade math teachers had the same name I would have thrown that in too.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Hutchison having a better AB than Francisco has had in a week.

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Hutchison having a better AB than Francisco has had in a week. Yeah. Pretty solid strike out there.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Can the new commissioner please ban all interleague games ?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Yeah. Pretty solid strike out there. At least he took a few pitches and laid off a breakingball
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Can't MLSE take over for Rogers...
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 f***... watching this outfield tonight is like watching tim bits hockey.
wardhenke1 Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Can't MLSE take over for Rogers... Why? You want to push the Blue Jays non-championship seasons to 48 in a row? Plus Rogers owns part of MLSE I believe, so we would be doubly f***ed!!!
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 No MPH,No pitchtrax.Someone tryin to save some money$?
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Oh look! A double! How rare in this game!
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 No MPH,No pitchtrax.Someone tryin to save some money$? No Pat Tabler. Buck is too drunk to run a computer and Joe is still trying to figure out what this "MyFace" thing is all about.
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Wtf am I watching... no one cares, its obvious now.
wardhenke1 Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 BP again. f*** this is depressing. I can't seem to drink fast enough to dull the pain.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Ugh. Good bye everyone. Should I even bother to watch tomorrow...
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 So that's how you approach a man on second and no out situation.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Ugh. Good bye everyone. Should I even bother to watch tomorrow... Entirely up to you, but I wouldn't let other plans get in the way of the game.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Hate to say it but **** this team. I'm keeping an eye on the Mariners and Royals. Oh, and the Brewers are sure doubling their pleasure and fun.. 7 doubles tonight! Either that's due to bad D, poor pitching, or this weird ballpark, which is a hitter's park.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Ugh. Good bye everyone. Should I even bother to watch tomorrow... 2pm start. Crack open a few cold ones and just watch some ball. Worst case you pass out drooling on the coach pillows.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Don't think iv seen so many hard hit balls in an inning before. Talk about teeing off
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Wtf am I watching... no one cares, its obvious now. You are watching so you can see what is posted and reply here accordingly. They have comeback from down a lot before in an NL game,in cinncy ,but noone feels its gonna happen tonite.... Betting thats a safe assumption.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 So, if the Royals manage to make the playoffs this year, will that make the Jays the only team in the past 20 not to make at least one appearance?
