BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Honestly......after an initial hot streak Juan has been absolutely beyond aw ful. Cmon Kawa! Good AB
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 It would be nice if the GDT had a regular start time - like 15 mins before game time so people could settle in with some conversations before the game. If 10 mins before game time no GDT is started then it's whoever want to start it. Just a suggestion. Agreed, game had started and I still saw nothing. For now on, someone just post in the around baseball thread if they are going to make, to avoid double threads. We no longer need the big fancy gdts this season, lol. Well done Saki
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 GJ Saki! Wow! We did something f***ing right for once.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 If Bautista and Edwin didn't have resurgences in their careers... it's pretty safe to say that Francisco would've been cut by now. He's not on their level Alex. He has no skills at all. Problem is that he doesn't have their contact skills. He can take a walk but he sure as hell can't make contact on offspeed pitches
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Damn forgot this was an NL game and Happ has to hit.
closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Bad feeling about this game, no one really trying.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I'll laugh if Happ gets extra bases here.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Can't believe Navarro made it home there. All Kawasaki needed to do was put the ball in play, which of course Francisco couldn't pull off.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 It looked like he just stopped short afraid to go even though he had plenty of space. Either he's afraid of smashing into it or he forgot how much room he had. He doesn`t want to risk injury for when he leaves, and plays for his next team. Cant blame him i guess.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Francisco is killing this team. They need to just play Valencia fulltime.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Well, that's 1 more run then i thought we would score. That's a positive i guess?

His offense went to s*** this year so you might be right about him not wanting to get injured and really kill his money making next year.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Huge inning for Happ here. Hold him and we have the top of the order coming up.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 If Bautista and Edwin didn't have resurgences in their careers... it's pretty safe to say that Francisco would've been cut by now. He's not on their level Alex. He has no skills at all. Edwin was pretty awful early on too. Almost everyone was calling for his release. I'm not saying Juan will figure it out, but let's not pretend that it happened immediately with Edwin. With that said, I see no reason to keep him on the team right now.
comeon sense Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Francisco is killing this team. They need to just play Valencia fulltime. Valencia,Reimold,Pillar,Gose, and Dan Johnson, when he gets back deserve to play more than Rasmus, and Fransisco.

Edwin was almost always within striking distance of an .800 OPS. His terrible defense at 3rd skewed everyone's opinion of his bat. The bat was always clearly MLB caliber. The two players are not comparable at all.

At the very least....he's a somewhat useful bench piece.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Francisco probably stopped listening to Seitzer and that's why he's struggling...
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Francisco probably stopped listening to Seitzer and that's why he's struggling... I'm thinking they all have except Melky
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 At the very least....he's a somewhat useful bench piece. How is he useful though? He is defensively limited, he cannot hit LHP, and he cannot hit a breaking ball. He has a solid arm and can hit a ball into the 500 level a few times a year. That is not a useful player.

I get what you're saying, but we might not have noticed at the time that even at his worst Edwin has never struck out more than 20% of the time aside from his rookie year, and at the same time posting really good walk rates. He wasn't just an all-power guy like Francisco is.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Francisco probably stopped listening to Seitzer and that's why he's struggling... He's struggling because pitchers figured out that he has zero chance of hitting anything that isn't a fastball.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Rofl epic fail from that Brewers fan.
Rotator Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Why is everyone so late against this friar guy. Hes topping out at 91

Hey East, sorry to thread-whore, but would you be interested in joining a board fantasy basketball keeper league? Some quality posters have already expressed their interest, and we'd love to have you. Here's the link if you're interested. http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/3785-Fantasy-Basketball-Dynasty-League

closetjaysfan Verified Member Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 that was an exact repeat of his first inning out.
