Jays:

• Making his first appearance against the White Sox, Drew Hutchison will try to bounce back after he allowed six runs and seven hits in 5 2-3 innings of an 11-1 loss at Seattle on Monday.
  
• Cabrera is batting .364 with eight RBIs in his last 11 games, and .378 with 15 RBIs in his last 17 at Chicago, and since June 24, Reyes is hitting .343 with 32 runs scored in 45 games.
  

 

Tigers:

• Chicago counters with rookie Scott Carroll, who is 0-2 with a 6.65 ERA in his last four starts. The right-hander hasn't pitched since he allowed seven runs, three homers and three walks over five innings in a 13-3 loss at Seattle on Aug. 7. Carroll yielded five runs - three earned - and seven hits in five innings of a 7-0 loss at Toronto on June 26.
  
• Cuban rookie Jose Abreu is 6 for 12 in his last three games, and 10 for 24 versus Toronto.
  
• The White Sox are 4-2 against the Blue Jays this season, 14-9 since 2012 and 11-6 over their last 17 meetings.
