I don't think any Jays fan could honestly say that down 4-0 against David Price we had much of a chance. But to their credit, they worked him hard and got his pitch count up to get into the pen.

Yeah, I didn't tune back in till the 9th either. I kind of wish I'd seen it all now.

So not only did I make my lady watch from the ninth to the nineteenth, but she also made a rib dinner and banana bread too. I'd say I basically have to marry her to make up for today, but I'm pretty sure I'm not worthy.

Couldn't agree more. No sense arguing surplus value now, nothing will be changing.

One of the most exciting parts for most of us has to be younger guys coming up and contributing significantly (Hutch, Stro and Sanchez) to this post season push.

And Norris today in his AAA debut: 6-IP, 2-H, 0-ER, 1-BB, 10-K. Pompey could start 2015 at Buffalo as well. Nolin, Pillar, Jimenez and Burns could also be decent depth guys. We'll see what happens, but things aren't looking as dire as some thought.

#BlueJays Melky Cabrera is the first player in the last century with 3 hits & 5 walks in a game

What's that worth? My guess: 1M more annually.

I must say, feels GREAT that the Jays won that. These games always feel a little more awesome. Loosing this would be *crushing*. I feel bad for the Tigers.... *looks at their starting rotation* ... never mind, I don't.

Which is weird because Melky doesn't really walk.... though 2 of those were intentional.

Haha, and when it was 4-0 today I told my girlfriend "I know a loss when I see one. Let's watch something else."

So I ate crow, and it was delicious.

I was at work and the thing that gave me some hope was Price's pitch count in the 4th. I think they didn't score, but made him work and ran it up.

oh lord the human white flag

Yeah, but the only other long man choice really is Nolin, and he probably needs at least one more day (plus I'm not sure we really want to burn another option on someone who may not even get into a game). At least it would be the right kind of park for Mills to pitch in.

This is one of those threads I want to go back and read... I went to sleep after it was 5-zip.... woke up is was 5-4.

Jenkins just wanted to thank fans for sticking around and cheering

THIS GUY IS PERFECT

Damn you Rogers on Demand for cutting away before that interview, I'd have loved to have seen that!

Bautista left a large Dominican town on the bases tonight and still comes off the hero. It should have been Jenkins getting the gatorade shower. dude was amazing. nice layout catch by Rasmus as well.

Great wins Saturday and Sunday!!!! Getting closer to EE and Lind's return (hope I didn't jinx them)...

This in one reason why all the comments about the game being over in the early innings gets to me. This was a hard fought game which culminated in the series win. When you reflect back on the first game it was a winnable one with the other two being 1-run wins against some terrific starters. The Jays have been holding their own even through they are without some key players. I am really proud of these guys - they showed a lot of determination as it got later in the game. Rasmus and Bautista made some terrific defensive plays at crucial times. Long game but satisfying all the same cause of the outcome.

I agree. I've had my freakouts during the season, especially in April, but the team has hung in there and battled. Gotta hand it to them and I've felt this way before today's win.

Coming into this weekend, I'm sure everyone would not have believed a 2/3 win against the Tigers was possible while having to face the likes of Sanchez/Scherzer/Price

I think Loup has pitched in 4 straight

The pen is going to be tough to manage the next couple games unless Hutch can give us a strong performance tomorrow.

Anyone else worried about us looking like poop tomorrow in Seattle?

Some roster moves have to be made but I feel they will do well. Being tired is one thing but having a boost to your confidence goes a long way. They will be amped up and hopefully will be able to garb some sleep before the game. They really don't need batting practice. :)

The sooner we get Francisco out of this lineup, the better.

f*** those automatic outs.

The unproductive outs were tough to take but the effort on D did not look nice at all either.
