FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 f*** the Expos, get over it s*** tail, the Jays still have a shot, f***face. Hilarious how the homers have gone from "still in first place" to "still in wildcard position" to "still have a shot." What's next - "still haven't been contracted yet"? I don't get the whining, although I should since it's a GDT. Still, so many posters were just begging for "meaningful games in August" prior to the start of the season yet can't seem to handle the rigors of a WC race. It's not really much of a "race," this team has simply bent over and allowed the real teams to run a train on them.

CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Im with you .... Being a diehard Seahawks fan has let me care less and less about the Jays I f***ing hate hockey too so its becoming almost impossible to support an ownership group that spends 5 BILLLLION for MOOOAR hockey on TV. I can't f***ing stand hockey anymore, s*** is so f***ing overrated, especially the regular season

I think I predicted August 24th before the Rays train is the final blow and rips is completely open. Seems like it might be sooner.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 Janssen and his comments can go f*** themselves, ruined a good start.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 Your Nails pitcher, lost the game East? He's been pimping Janssen for a really long time. *sigh* Another player bites the ECJF curse...
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Stop living in the past, really. No one here is living in the past, bud. No need to insult the team anyhow.
DH12 Verified Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Yeah this is true lol. Earlier today I was thinking about how literally every season since Wilner became a broadcaster he's spouted off about fans who are too doom and gloom and angrily declared that the Blue Jays are still in it and that there's no reason to be dispirited. Yet, he's always ended up wrong lol. The Blue Jays really have let Wilner down every time and the doom and gloom fans have been right. It's not really predictive though. The Jays have a ~30% shot at the playoffs and that should be taken at face value. By late august Jays will be out of a wild card spot
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Stacked teams in the NBA is a joke, players run that s*** show.....see, Cavaliers. There's only a few good orgs in that league. How is that different from the yankees dodgers blowing wads of cash every year for stacked teams. Other than the friend syndrome, its quite comparable
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Jansen has been really shaky the past couple weeks and he looked terrible tonight. Can't believe we threw away the great start from Dickey today. This loss really sucks.

Exactly. Preseason is starting up so you start to get excited for the NFL so it eases the pain usually right around this time when the Blue Jays are starting to tail off.
jays76 Verified Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 If im at the game I 100% boo Janssen. You don't go public and then do that.. I was at the game and the atmosphere was incredible until CJ s*** the bed. It was still rocking even after the first bomb but after the 2nd jack everyone was completely stunned silent. The place exploded again when the Jays rallied but it was a morgue after Thole popped out, absolutely baffled we lost that game..
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Game today is sold out. Just went on Ticketmaster and there is not even single seats available. Tomorrow game is pretty much sold out already too. We need to take the next two games. Keep the casuals interested.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 It's not really much of a "race," this team has simply bent over and allowed the real teams to run a train on them. There is a race whether it's the race you'd like them to be in or not, it's a legit race among at least 4 teams. A week ago, the Jays had a 2 game lead, but had begun to go into their latest slump which has seen them fall to 1.5 games off the 2nd WC leader. The team ended July winning 5 in a row, but has struggled mightily in the first 8 games of August going 2-6. So again, it is a race.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Last night's loss is partly on Biggy as Janssen was pitching for the 3rd night in a row, unnecessarily.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Lol, what does this even mean? It means what it says, at least the dumb fans support the team in a WC race while fans like me have never been to a game..."LOL".
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Last night's loss is partly on Biggy as Janssen was pitching for the 3rd night in a row, unnecessarily. I partly agree. I say partly because who would you trust with the save on the line against that Detroit lineup? Loup? Not so sure I would.

CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 My issue was that CJ should not have been in a position where he was pitching the 3rd night in a row. True, Gibbons should have had prevented that. As I always say, he's not a very good coach.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 My issue was that CJ should not have been in a position where he was pitching the 3rd night in a row. This. It's incomprehensible why Biggy couldn't have used one of Sanchez, McGowan, Loup or Cecil to get through the 1.1 innings that were needed from the bullpen in the 2 games prior to last night's. Now, that's not to say that if Janssen had not been pitching for the 3rd game in a row, he wouldn't have been up in the zone, but there really was no need to burn him for 1/3 of an inning on Wednesday up by 4 and to get 3 outs on Thursday down by a run.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Also. Has any media asked Gibbons why he uses Valencia at first base over Juan Francisco VS rhp? It just doesn't make any f***ing sense. Danny Valencia 899 Career PA vs RHP: 68 wRC+ Juan Francisco 906 Career PA vs RHP: 117 wRC+ And it's not like the Jays can be looking at just the 2014 season. ( i know the sample size means s***) 2014: Valencia vs RHP: 46 wRC+ 2014: Francisco vs RHP: 139 wRC+ STOP PLAYING VALENCIA AT FIRST OVER JUAN FRANCISCO VS RHP PLEASE AND f***ING THANK YOU.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Silver lining: with every implosion, a multi-year Janssen extension is increasingly less likely. Janssen's FIP this year is 4.46. His k/9 rate is sitting at 5.0, after being 8-9 the last few years. He shouldn't have been used for a 3rd straight day yesterday, but in any case, I'm not sure he's a guy you want to throw big Closer Money at.
