Burns has yet to get to AAA.

Why?

The biggest obstacle is A-Ball to AA-Ball. Low ceiling guy, nothing to lose.

The more important point is why go through 40 man machinations for a three day paternity leave? Not worth it. Goins is probably not going to get much playing time anyways, probably just some late inning work as a defensive replacement.

Goins > Tolleson.

Kawasaki has done well since being called up, but Tolleson is only here because he bats right handed. I say start Francisco every day, send down Tolleson and keep Goins on the bench.

Kawasaki is absolutely terrific as our primary utility IF and I'm fine with him playing longer periods during injuries. But we so desperately need a good, regular decent hitting 3B or 2B it's not even funny.

Come on AA, come on...

So true. The fact we're debating Goins vs. Tolleson - two players who should never be in the big leagues - is sad.

Team is a joke. Does anyone call up, DFA and pick up others DFA more than we do? I swear this team goes through more players than any team I can remember

Do you honestly believe Goins > Tolleson?

Anyone understand the rationale for Goins? I may not agree with Sanchez but I could see why AA might think he can help as a releiver but what's the point of Goins? He's not an improvement over Kawa. Is he going to play 2B and push Kawa to third against righties? Spell Reyes?

16 for his last 46 (7 two hit games in his last 12). It's as simple as that. This front office buys into SSS that much.

Tolleson to the paternity list. That simple.

That makes sense, I retract my statement even if it's true that they do look at players based on 2 weeks of play. I should have read page 2.

Hey guys take solace in knowing that Daniel Norris' timetable to get called up has been pushed back by a week or two with the two bad starts

Appreciate that...at least now we can talk about how hot Goins has been at the plate.

Rasmussen to AAA

Mills DFAd

Both Rasmussen and Mills are currently on the active roster and Santos cleared a 40 man roster spot so you only need to do one of those moves.

Is it possible that AA is calling up Sanchez to showcase him as trade bait? If he pitches well he helps the team and his trade value increases.

NO way. The kid was unable to dominate A-Ball, AA-Ball or AAA-Ball.

Anyone curious about the timing of this? I dont think that in 10 days we will have great idea if Sanchez is or isnt a good answer for our bullpen issues for the rest of the year. Can throw out his first outing due to nerves and its not like he has had much time to get used to the change yet

From a guy that knows stuff:

"Sanchez called up.

It just doesn't make any sense on any level.

It's unlikely that this is good for his development, it's probably bad for his trade value, definitely bad long-term to waste the service time and he's unlikely to upgrade the team in any meaningful way."

I don't know if it's necessarily bad for his trade value.

Yea, it should really do nothing on that front. But, some GMs (specifically the ones fooled into thinking Sanchez is an elite pitching prospect) are more retarded about small sample performance than we'd like to believe. If he comes up and gas-cans a few games, he might scare a dino off. It's unlikely that doing well in a few short relief appearance would provide a boost of equal magnitude to the same idiots. Or maybe it would. I shouldn't pretend how the brains of Amaro et al work.

Bringing Sanchez up is just dumbfounded. You could park a transport truck between the risk & reward in this scenario.

A GM with his balls in a vice sure makes poor decisions.
