Gotta be downtown if it's gonna be a success, that new potential site seems too far away from downtown...and the strip joints.

 

As I said in my original post, the land is no longer there. In the years since, it looks as if apartments have been put up in the surrounding area. There's no space for a stadium. This is why I can't see a new Jays stadium ever being built. First, the Rogers Centre is already in a good location. While it's a fair walk from Union Station, it's still easy to get to, and it's downtown. Where else could the build a new stadium? More and more condos are being built left and right.

I won't argue with you with regards to how many condoms are being used in this city since you're the Architect here. At the same time, I think we're in agreement that if the stadium isn't built in the right location, it's best not to even bring a team back to this city since it would be set up to fail again.

The Big O is the epitome of the state of affairs in Quebec. Overpriced from the beginning, falling apart, full of corruption (look at all the cost overuns on every project), horrible location, etc.. etc..I also think a new stadium would be full of problems, it's just because nothing is ever done right in this province. 5% goes to the mafia, 5% goes to the corrupt politicians, 10% extra goes to the corrupt companies, so it would cost us quite a bit more to build it here. As much as I'd love a team, I don't know if the market could support it long term to compete with other teams. We'd most likely have a 75m payroll and that would lead to lower attendance then in 10 years the threat of the team leaving too if we didn't win and attendance was bad in a newly shittly built stadium (everything in quebec is built half ass).

It's been a while since I re-watched any Seinfeld, but it's a must re-do soon for me to just relax and laugh for a bit.

You don't wanna know what I think of governments. It's really amazing to me how anyone believes anything that comes out of politicians' mouths, let alone have any trust in them. I think I'll leave it at that so as to not start a political debate.

I have no illusions that Montreal will get another team, at least not in the near or mid-term future. There is definitely a different revenue-sharing system in place which would give the team a better chance. However, good to great ownership is a must as a foundation.

So essentially the old stadium was supposed to look like Progressive Field and the new one Target Field. I hope the architects deciding this aren't part of the Montreal push, because the creativity in the design is a hack job at best.

 

Current word is the design would be about 35,000 seats, retractable roof like in Milwaukee but not climate controlled. Ie. will be cool inside on cool days.

Just some advice, but avoid parking at Jiffy Park. I have a feeling the owners are lending out people's cars for hookers to turn tricks. The other day I found a used condom on the floor of my car.
