Favourite NL Team?

Since I don't really have a team to cheer for I foolishly made a formula to choose an NL team for me.

 

According to my calculations I'm going to be a Nationals Fan. Go Nats Go

 

 

How it works:

 

I decided to break it up in to 3 categories, performance points, logo points & likability points.

 

 

Performance Points

 

- I grabbed the run differential from 2011-2014 for each team

- Gave a 50 pt bonus for every time they made the playoffs since 2010 (since there is no 2014 yet, I went back 1 year).

 

(Quick note, I find it very odd that the Giants have only a +37 Run Differential over the last 4 years.

 

I then grabbed the avg performance points which was about 68 and used that as a rough middle number for ranking #7th team for best logo & likeability.

- This is my own personal preference, after all I have to be comfortable wearing their hat...

 

 

Likability

 

- By far the most debatable and the most difficult to gauge. I might change this yet but for the time being I used ESPNs likability rankings which seem plausible considering they don't have the Yankees as #1 lol. : http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/teamrankings/_/sport/mlb/category/pla#table

Maybe you should have weighted the years so that the more recent results are more important.

I'm partial to the Giants and the Cardinals these days. This year I've caught a lot of Pirates games, though. I can't help but root for them for some reason.

I'd have to go with the Mets, mostly because I'm from NY and their FO problems have been similar to the Jays (bad joke). I have a soft spot for the Cubbies too. Not really sure why.
