gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Ok people. This marks RA's most meaningful start as a Blue Jay, a start on the heals of two types of losses where in the past would launch a slide. It's time for RA to step up and make a statement start that the "Ace" of the staff should make on a first place club. He's facing an average offense in the Twins and now it's time for him to show the leadership qualities that he was brought here for. This is a start that will be looked back on, no matter what the outcome this season brings. We are looking forward for you to lead us tonight RA.

Don't agree with you at all on those statements... but yes, I agree RA should be able to carve up the Twins tonight.

Convo Verified Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 There's really nothing to step up to... I don't believe he can be any better than what he has been the last 1-1/3 seasons. Plain and simple, he's a very mediocre pitcher now. If Gibbons stops giving him so much rope we may be able to maximize his potential, let him pitch 5-6 innings then pull him at the first sign of trouble. Also your post is flat out ridiculous, this game means no more than any other game. I subscribe to the notion that all regular season games are equally important.

I'd be happy if he can get past the 6th inning without s***ing the bed.

Of course all regular season wins are equal IN THE STANDINGS, but a solid start from RA and a team win would be more valuable to the team than just a win in itself. I know he's a mediocre pitcher and have cash on the line to back that up, but it's about f***ing time he's shows a bit more tonight.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Funny at most meaningful game, if a chance to get to the playoffs or a playoff game is decided by the Dickster then we have a conservation
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 You are so funny man! Not capable of having a normal conversation without s***ing on someone?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 You are so funny man! Just curious.. Are you old enough to remember a championship season? I guess that would be 1993.
Convo Verified Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Not capable of having a normal conversation without s***ing on someone? I already made my points dude, I guess you don't read. Plus, the argument that this is such an important game for Dickey seems too dumn to even bother debating.

Nothing can stop the free-fall now. Except... maybe... perhaps... Help us, Obi-Wan Kenobi; you're our only hope. Yes. It's him. I swear to god.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Dickey needs to step up. His last outing was embarrassing. Throw strikes old man.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 This game is no more meaningful than any other game the Jays have played this season. Statistically speaking, yes. You guys have to understand there is more to the game than plain old black and white stats.

I get that but they lost two games in a row, not 4 or 5. They play 162 games a season and the best teams lose 65-70 games a year. They have gone 25-9 in their last 34 games including this two game losing streak. This is baseball, not Football, you don't live and die with every game.

This is more about RA himself needing to step it up,the two game losing streak just somewhat magnifies his start tonight.
