shortstop Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Another good start. 9 hits but 3 runs, 0 walks...gave the team a chance to win... what's up with the offence or lack thereof?!
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Stroman looking good so far. Obviously I would like to see him over an extended period, but I think he is doing a great job of putting those height concerns to rest.

You just know the first time he has a rough outing certain people will bring up the lack of height. I love his ability to command the FB on the corners plus his ability to throw a soft and hard slider, a cutter and a developing change up. It's funny how people bring up the height issue with Stroman, but Happ is 6'6" and no one says "maybe his height is a problem, in that he's too tall"...lol. Anyway...
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 As a starter: 22.0% K-BB%, 1.66 FIP, 2.64 xFIP, 61.8% GB% nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng

I like what I see so far as a starter for sure. And I THINK his performance since he began starting is closer to his true talent level than what we saw out of the BP. We need the next 3-4 weeks to help decide how confident we can be pencilling him in the rotation for the second half.

Yeah I don't know why it keeps getting brought up. What actually affects his pitching is his release point... Chris Sale probably has a lower release point than Stroman and he does fine.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 The numbers including the ones in the pen are just as sick lol
