Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 @Wilnerness590 3m Jerry Howarth relaying the story of how Yu Darvish asked for Arencibia to be his personal catcher. #Bluejays #Jays #Rangers JP 1 BJMB 0
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Wonder how much JP paid him. Good way to stay on the roster.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Good framer and excellent teammate. Not really suprised by this. Does Yu even speak english?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Good framer and excellent teammate. Not really suprised by this. Whatever drugs you're on, I want no part of them.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Does Yu even speak english? I think that makes more sense. Yu thought he was asking for permission to bang Kim Perry
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I think that makes more sense. Yu thought he was asking for permission to bang Kim Perry lol
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Whatever drugs you're on, I want no part of them. To be fair, he IS a good framer.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 To be fair, he IS a good framer. I was more referring to the excellent teammate part, but yeah while surprising that is a fair point.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 The guy loves his teammates. And his teammates loved him. How is this not true? I would agree. He seems like the rah rah type and seemed really popular with the club. Don't see how anyone could see it any other way... His issue was being an arrogant douche with media and fans..
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 You sure you're not overreacting to a single season of decent framing numbers? Before last year he was pretty awful behind the plate in all aspects. Framing becomes reflective of true talent very quickly, if I'm correct.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 Framing becomes reflective of true talent very quickly, if I'm correct. Yeah. The passball are sporadic.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 His issue was poor D..a brutal OPS and an epic K rate
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 JPA had a bad pitching staff to catch. People need to realize it was more us than him. LOL, yes his issues were on the pitching staff... JPA is not good at framing, being a cacher or baseball.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 JPA had a bad pitching staff to catch. People need to realize it was more us than him. What excuse do you have for all those passed balls? What about his triple slash line?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 He has turned out to be above average at framing. He has worked on it and improved every year. I give him credit for that. He just can't hit. Also.terrible at throwing guys out at 2B. Game caller? Don't know but my guess is not very good.
Spoonovic Verified Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Game calling may be the important one. Throwing guys out is generally more on the pitcher than C. Darvish prefers to call his own games. They were talking about it on the radio. Darvish decides what pitch he throws himself. Dont you notice how he shakes off the catcher almost every time?

Dont you notice how he shakes off the catcher almost every time? Yep. Polar opposite of Buerhle, who apparently doesn't even read the scouting reports on hitters. He just throws what the catcher calls for.

Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I think you guys just hate him because hes so good looking. Your gfs, your sister, and your mom wanted to bang him Yes you have me all figured me, a baseball fan, hate him because my mom and sister who don't even know who JP is wanted to bang him.........................
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Does this mean the Jays should try to get him back? If not, who cares?
