Notes:

MLB:

  • No Important Notes Today.

Jays:

  • Hutchison is 0-3 with a 4.95 ERA in seven starts since winning his season debut April 1. The right-hander yielded three runs, three hits and a season-high four walks over 4.1 innings of Sunday's 9-3 defeat to the Los Angeles Angels.
  • First baseman Adam Lind went 13 for 30 with three homers and 10 RBIs as Toronto took six of seven from the Rangers last season, including all four meetings in Texas by a combined 24-4 score.
  • The Blue Jays are 11-10 on the road this season, winning their last three. The Blue Jays haven't finished a season with a winning road record since going 45-36 in 2003. They were 66-96 on the road the past two seasons, tied with the White Sox for the second-worst road mark in the AL. But they did manage a four-game sweep in Arlington last summer.

Rangers:

  • Darvish had everything working last Friday, striking out 12 over 8.2 innings of an 8-0 win over Boston. The right-hander appeared to give up his first hit with two outs in the ninth inning, but was ultimately charged with two after Major League Baseball reversed the scoring on an earlier play that was originally ruled an error. Banged-up Texas hopes Darvish has many more such nights with left-handed starters Matt Harrison and Martin Perez going on the disabled list Wednesday, with both possibly out for extended periods. The Rangers have used 38 players - 22 of those who have pitched - this season.
  • The Rangers have dropped 12 of 17 and have a losing record this late in a season for the first time since 2009. They had taken 15 consecutive series from Houston before losing two of three there this week, falling 5-4 in walkoff fashion Wednesday.
  • Elvis Andrus, with a third-inning single on Wednesday, has an 11-game hitting streak for the second time this season. They are the longest streaks by a Rangers player this season.

Go Jays Go

Wish it wasn't Darvish

Rangers have 5 starters on the DL but that they still have one beast

A win tonight would be amazing

Darvish is going to need a good outing tonight.. the next two starters (Lewis and Martinez) aren't exactly good pitchers, and their bullpen was hit hard yesterday. And there will the question on how effective Darvish will be after nearly throwing a no-hitter last time after throwing 126 pitches(of which the no-hitter not only didn't happen, but an error was changed to a hit for David Ortiz a few days later.)

I have a feeling the Jays bats are going to go off on Darvish tonight. I hope I'm right.

If Davrish is as good as last time out it will be harsh. We have to hope he gets some pitches up. jays need to get into the bullpen early tonight and maybe they can get the Rangers on the back foot all weekend.

Correction.. Robbie Ross Jr. starts tomorrow, not Colby Lewis. Regardless, the Rangers are screwed if they lose tonight.

That what we thought against the Angels...

Yu Darvish walking less and giving up less homers in the early going, He's getting a bit lucky but the guy has been refining his stuff since he debuted. Tough pitcher

Ricky Romero with 9 walks today. In 3 innings if I recall correctly.

Ricky Ro is done. That's a big chunk of salary not helping the team

Question: do players get a meal allowance for games on the road? Or do they pay out of pocket?

Yes, they get a per diem for each day on the road. It's about $95 a day.

You guys will have to cheer extra tonight. I'm wiped out and will have to read through the thread and watch the game tomorrow.

Good luck 🍀
