saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I just have a complete calmness when Janssen takes the mound. I know he's going to blow the odd save....but teams will earn it....Janssen just never gives it away...what a strike throwing machine.
Convo Verified Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Never in doubt with Janssen on the mound. What an upgrade over Santos. He makes it look easy
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 What? You expect him to hit for power? Look, you've gotta accept that Escobar was given away because of the "maricon" incident. This is the way this franchise is run, don't blame Reyes for that. Reyes has a history of getting injured and it's for all to see, blame AA for being dumb. I'm not blaming Reyes for that. It's not Reyes's fault that Loria gave him $22M a year like a retard. And it's not Reyes's fault that AA traded for him. I'm not blaming Reyes at all actually. All I'm doing is evaluating his contract. $22MM Is paid to a player who is not an injury threat and can do at least 4/5 of the tools with the exception of a corner OF/1B good glove + offensive powerhouse. Reyes lacks range and lacks power and on top of that he's an injury concern. There's nothing wrong with evaluating a contract bro
jays76 Verified Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Another successful reverse jinx. In the words of the immortal Borat: Very Nice, I like!
Convo Verified Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Considering we haven't seen Reyes at his best and the fact that hes been injured for half his tenure. Not the greatest comparison. Yunel was a sulky douche bag who didn't make any effort to play hard. I was glad he was shipped out just wish we got more but he f***ed that up with his s***** 2012 and dumb eye black. Nevertheless, it's what they've done over the last 3 seasons.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 3 balls in play Someone will say Janssen was lucky tonight
kgm1 Verified Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Great win. Happ wasn't happless, pitched a decent game and EE is so hot he is carrying the team . Back at 500 at 21 and 21 with the BP losses at 9 . McGowan will improve the pen and the Stroman will hopefully get his first MLB start
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 When the jays lose, they lose big or in dramatic fashion

Maybe if he gets to start he can get some mojo?
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Santos finds a way to turn that into a 30 pitch adventure.

Also sulky or not, numbers are numbers. He wasn't a cancer in the clubhouse and was easily a top 5 defensive SS in the majors, what more do you want out of $5M?

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Janssen here one months ago and the jays could be in the 1st place easy
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 3 balls in play Someone will say Janssen was lucky tonight Yeah his xFIP took a hit. No strikeouts at all. He was extremely lucky that those balls were hit right at fielders!

Hindsight is always 20/20 but at that time I don't think too many GM's are passing up the opportunity to have Jose Reyes as your starter over GIDP king Yunel Escobar..
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Janssen's xFIP today was 5.71. He was awful.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 Hustle and atleast pretending like he cared. Why not pay McCoy and play him at short everyday?

At least let go of your Escobar obsession...or we'll think tu eres maricon.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Not true... Santos > Janssen This. Santos was just unlucky with all his walks, wild pitches. poor pitch framing and homers allowed.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Holy crap, the Red Sox lost 2 of 3 to the Twins @ Minnesota, the sky be fallin'!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 This. Santos was just unlucky with all his walks, wild pitches. poor pitch framing and homers allowed. Yeah, all the walks and wild pitches weren't his fault, just bad luck.
