  • No Important Notes Today.

 

Jays:


  • McGowan might be pitching in his last start for the next while at least. He yielded three runs - two earned - and three hits in six-plus innings of a 10-7 defeat at Kansas City. He has a 7.07 ERA in his last 3 starts.
  • Jose Bautista extended his hitting streak to a career-high 13 games with a single during the fourth inning of Saturday night's game in Pittsburgh. Bautista has reached base in all 30 games this season, which is a franchise record.
  • Brett Lawrie has recorded multiple hits in six consecutive games and seven of his past nine contests. He also has a team-high 21 RBIs.

 

Pirates:

  • Volquez gave up six runs and two homers before being pulled with two outs in the sixth inning of a 7-0 defeat to the Cardinals. He had a 2.08 ERA over his first four starts and he's 0-2 with an 8.16 ERA over three starts, allowing four runs in five innings with the Padres on June 2 in his last start against the Jays.
  • The Jays pitching staff sure know how to kickstart an offence! The Pirates have come in to this series having dropped 10 of 12 while batting .217 and averaging 2.8 runs per game. In this series they are batting .387 and have scored 14 runs in the last two.
  • Andrew McCutchen is 19/43 in his past 10 Interleague games at PNC Park.

As much as I don't think Gose is ready yet, tolleson seems like the man that should have went down here first! There have been some head scratchers this year roster wise not sure what AA is doing anymore!

He left at 5 AM....he never slept....no rest, long drive, mlb debut....total crapshoot on what he will do.
