So basically, the exact same problems as last year. Good enough offense, garbage pitching.

It's too bad nobody identified these pitching problems in the off season and did something about them. It must be a horrible shock to the FO that virtually the same pitching staff would still be a weakness.

I'm going to update this every month with +/- change in the team stats ranking.... gives me something to do instead of crying.

The pitching will improve without any moves, let alone adding Stroman, there is room for optimism. Jays are 6th in league in xxFIP-.

I can't tell if this is serious or not. Is there actually an xxFIP- haha

yeah but their xxxFIP indicates their xxFIP will regress

Thanks! Can the starting pitching vs the pen comparison be done too? That and rankings vs American League and division? Not sure how hard or if this can be done easily.

And how stable and predictive is a month's worth of xxFIP vis-a-vis other quantitative and derivative analytics over the subsequent 5 months of the season?

It stabilizes the fastest of the more prominent stats (I think it goes xxFIP-SIERA-xFIP and so on) and then it evens out at a rate near SIERA at the top for extended samples, if I remember correctly. Could be wrong though.
