Why is no one talking about this guy? He put up an 8 (eight!) WAR season last year and is on pace for another one. Also didn't make the majors till he was 26. Bautista pt 2? Wow

If you're gay, the sexy Angel Pagan is available. A sexy latin alpha guy with nice hair.

Just weird how you NEVER hear about it - at least not nearly proportional to how good he is

No one talks about him because he's an A's player lol. Lots of A's players don't get the credit they deserve. A lot of people don't talk about Lowrie, Moss or Crisp when they have been really great. The people really into baseball talk a lot about them, but usually not the casuals

Sonny Gray shutout the Rangers.

A's are good

Carlos Gomez #4. Everyone thought he was a bust.

Sometimes something just clicks for guys. Hopefully Lawrie will be up there soon.

Somewhat related...if anyone watched the A's Rangers on ESPN last night, how good is Sonny Gray. He's often used as a comp for Stroman (I think AA has said it himself). I'm a Jays fan, so I dont expect things to ever go that well, but if Stroman can come up and deliver the way Gray has, it will be a huge boost.

People seem to forget that Donaldson was the main piece of a pretty big trade (Harden in 08 when he had a 2.34 ERA). He was a first rounder. He fell into that minor league trap of "playing multiple positions in the minors so he must be a terrible defender" (we've seen it with Lawrie, Frazier, Prado, Headley...even when Moustakis was moved from SS). Every BA review talked about his bat being so far ahead of his Catching defense (but defended him because he just became a catcher in his sophomore year at Auburn). In 2008 they said he had a 20 HR, .280 average kind of bat. Even in 2011 everyone kept saying that his future would have to be behind the plate cause he'd never be able to convert back to 3B effectively. I don't think anyone saw him become 140+ wRC guy but that's also partially because most of his really good minor league seasons were in hitters parks. No one takes a .330/.391/.564 line too seriously when it's by a 23 year old in the Cal League.

Oh and let's not forget Yan freakin' Gomes.
