With the 29th pick in the First Round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, the Cincinnati Reds select Michael Kopech, a right handed pitcher from Mt. Pleasant HS, Texas .

http://bigleaguefutures.net/1/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/michaelkopech.jpg

"Michael is a premium level talent who has been steadily rising up the boards this spring as his stuff has improved. A tall, highly projectable right hander with an ideal pitcher's frame, our scouts were blown away with how much he's improved since they saw him last summer. He's gone from a guy who threw in the low 90s and could scrape 95 on occasion, to throwing in the mid to upper 90s throughout an entire start. The increased velocity and arm speed, has made his sweeping breaking ball firmer and given it tighter spin, while he shows flashes of a changeup which could be above average as well. We feel that Michael will be looked on as one of those players, much like Hunter Harvey in last year's draft, that should have been drafted much higher than he actually was. The sky's the limit on his potential."

With the 30th pick in the First Round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, the Texas Rangers select Derek Hill, an outfielder from Elk Grove HS, California

"Derek fits our organizational philosophy of targeting top level athletes at premium positions. A five tool talent in centerfield, he already brings game changing defense to the table as an amateur player, with plus speed, arm strength, and instincts. Our scouts compare his defense favorably to some of the best centerfielders in the game the Torii Hunters and Adam Jones, his defense is that good. His bat isn't as far along as his glove, but it definitely projects going forward. He has the bat speed and leverage to hit for above average power down the line, and his speed should play well on the base paths as well. Depending on how the bat and power develop he could potentially hit in the 1 through 3 spots in a major league lineup, with gold glove caliber defense in center."

It's a second-year math course.

KingKat up with the next 2 picks. We have 2 days to go boys!

I have been having issues with my phone. Even though I have a subscription to this thread, I only saw this now. I'll get right on it.

For everyone involved, just make your picks from this point on and forget the write-up. Continue to make the picks sensible and consistent with what those teams might actually do though.

Differential Equations eh haha. I had to take that course last year, but I don't pay enough attention in class to know remember what I learned haha

JFAS drafted Foley for the Rays already, but I'll log in Gettys to the Braves.

Red Sox select outfielder Marcus Wilson.

(Hopefully that's not the guy you were going to pick KK).

Hurl up after KK's re-pick for the Indians.

I will be there (legitimately he's hosting a party in Vegas on draft day) for the first round so I'm hoping in real life he doesn't drop this far for real. I take the TJS kid...Erick Fedde.

So what happened with this? I don't see JFAS's pick of Reid-Foley anywhere.

I hate to do this but KK took him a few picks ago.

Also when I redid the Cleveland pick, I gave Gettys to them and then Adams to the Braves.

I can pick for Grant and anyone else that can't pick. Especially if we're just doing names and not blurbs.

Yeah. You mind also PM'ing JFAS and asking him if he wants you to do his picks? We know he's busy for the next little while.

Soon boys. Also ace, do you plan to switch 39 to the pirates?

My bad. Totally slipped my mind. That's Grant or fatcow's pick now I think.
