kgm1 Verified Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 In spite of AA saying Hutch and Morrow will not be on an Innings limit I find it hard to believe that the jays will change their whole limits philosophy . I expect Hutch to be held to Strasbourg like innings 160 or so . Morrow MAY get to 180 but what Dusty will be held to is ???? . 120 /140 ? Hutch at 26 to 27 starts , Morrow probably 26 to 28 and Dusty 20 to 24 . We are probably lacking 18 starts or so yes Stroman may be ready . Sanchez would be innings limited too . Seems to me Happ and Redmond will be very important . Would you have them miss starts , DL them or just let it play out .

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 First off, will McGowan even last that long lol? I'm tempering my expectations with Morrow and McGowan. You for sure will see Stroman up at some point in May/June and Sanchez possibly in August.

The philosophy you are referencing is not applicable as it is for building up innings in prospects. No limits for players returning from injury outside of TJS. Hutch already finished his rehab and built his innings on thefall league. He won't be on a cap.

The Nats had no plan with Strasbourg and paid a heavy price when they needed him for the playoffs .

Who said anything about panic ???? I wondered what people thought they would do . Obviosly most feel they will let it ride out and no limits . i don't . I think they will miss starts . They will probably pitch Morrow but Hutch and McGowan will be limited

The plan is to let them pitch. AA has said a few times neither is on an innings cap. Additionally this would fit club policy as they have never believed in shutting down fully stretched MLBers. Just think of them as normal pitchers.
