You mean to make room for the NPD? Prior to the draft of course, say Wed. Midnight

Are we able to drop players during the draft to make room? I can't remember what the verdict was from the Baseball drafts?

If teams are able to self drop during the draft they're allowed to if they want to create extra space. Commishes will not make any drops for them though.

I know in BORED this was our intention, then nobody took care of their rosters ahead of time so commishes did drops for people.

So we have to cut down to 12, then there is a NPD, then after that it is a full dynasty with no cuts ever?

Damn, I thought we were already in full dynasty mode.

i was also under this impression

No cuts needed, unless your roster is illegal and it won't let you draft. Spanky meant 12 prospects is the limit.

I've updated the rules for debuting players to match the MLB leagues.

Instead of being fair game when they're officially called up. It's tough to decide what counts as a source and to nail down an exact time. The new rule will follow the MLB fantasy leagues.

DEBUT WAIVERS - if a player with no NHL games played plays in their first NHL game, including the postseason, any owner can request publicly that a commissioner place them on Debut Waivers, and any commissioner who sees a public request is obliged to do so. If a debuting player is not placed on Debut Waivers they can be added at 8 PM Eastern Time two days after their first NHL game. If a commissioner places a player on Debut Waivers they must post so in the message board thread or send an email to the league.

*If numerous people have a problem with this change we can put it to a vote. This just seemed like an obvious change as I believe there have been previous problems with the call up rule.

Updated rules can be found here. If anyone sees anything else that should be added or anything missing let me know.

Yes, that's why I'm telling people to cutdown to make room for their picks. Although I don't mind doing it, it takes a couple seconds, but that's if we're around at the time. I'd rather everyone make room.

I want to apologize on the cutdown confusion, I meant the NPD is 12... I was on a 2 day bender, paid for it yesterday. I normally don't do that anymore, multiple day s*** that is.

As posted above, they can't. I believe it's a paid option, I remember doing it in the FC draft.

Teams that have a promotion in fold...

Goldbull - Drake Batherson

Scion - Erik Brannstrom

jaysblue - Kailer Yamamoto

Have exceeded 60 games... they need to be promoted or dropped.

do we know / remember if my big league roster needs to be legal for the draft to work or does that not matter and i can make cuts there later on?

I seem to remember having to fix people's roster issues for them during the BORED draft

Oh, don't tell me that. I'll be pausing the draft immediately if that's the case, almost every team is illegal at the moment.

I increased the roster max to 21. This is to account for the player you're drafting. The spot will go away after the end of the draft. Teams might need to fix their rosters before picking in the draft.

I have six guys who should have green flags but don't, some have never played an NHL game, and I believe my roster is considered illegal?

Nope, you're good. It show's up as illegal at the top, but it was fine all last season. It's just the guys on the IL without a flag you have to worry about.

Also, if you draft someone without a green flag a commish can move him to your minors.
