lol... we can have votes. This won't fly. League activity is a good thing, why same day moves, you're contradicting yourself? The optional cats to players and goalies, has always been in favour by me, it's up to TCA.

Same day moves can be a pain in the ass because of the way Yahoo implements it. I don't particularly care either way, but I'm not sure that it's an improvement. Now if no one in the league has opposition to Fantrax, we could move the league there and that would probably solve the same day move issues in Yahoo.

 

Spanky had excellent goaltending, which caused him to take all/most of the categories there every week. Combine that with players who get a lot of hits and blocks and you win a lot of matchups. He definitely benefited from the volume of moves, but he almost certainly makes the playoffs even without them. It's also fair to point out he focused on more non-traditional areas (such as hits and blocks) as opposed to getting caught up with goals.

 

We can't add weighting to the stat categories. At best we could add additional stat categories for offense, but it already is weighted quite a bit heavier than goaltending and additional options that don't result in pure randomness are limited. I guess we could add actual points in addition to goals and assists to prioritize actual scoring (not sure if that's what you meant), but aside from that the only real additional option in Yahoo would be PIM.

Example, a player is cleared to return from the IR a few hours before a game and you can't start him because of the wait period to drop a player. I have zero issue with next day adds, that is perfectly fine as most leagues operate this way, but drops need to be instant.

 

Spanky made 130 moves, next up was 36, most of the rest barely cracked 20. Nothing against Spanks for using what was legally available to him, but it cheapens a dynasty league like this when guys can rake up wins abusing a system. Putting a limit on the season was the best thing we did in our other dynasty league, it levels the playing field as most are not hyper active scouring the waiver wire daily for cheap stat grabs.

Hmm, I took a look and you appear to be right. There doesn't seem to be an option to change it during the season though even if we wanted to, so it's something that would have to be decided in the offseason.

Soooooooo....let's get that same day roster drop rule implemented (maintaining the 1 day wait for adds). When does roster cutdown happen? NPD? Waiver draft? Shouldn't we get a move on pretty soon? Puck season is fast approaching.

Yeah, I'm going to send out e-mails in a day or two, I found them in my profile from last season this morning, just to see if we have a league moving forward. Only then, we can move on from there. NPD will happen first, roster keepers (15)will happen when Yahoo NHL opens, followed by the Waiver draft. The only e-mails I'm missing are Pendleton and L54, which is no big deal.
