Who came up with this rule?

It is so f***ing retarded.

The "foot in the crease" rule from the late 90s in hockey is probably the only dumber rule I can think of off the top of my head.

WTF is this rule supposed to prevent? Navarro blocked the plate without the ball...

There's a lane though

Good call!

There was a lane AFTER Navarro caught the ball. At that point he's allowed to block the plate.

No, he's not. He left the road open to the runner.

Nope, Navarro was left of the lane, hell Hoes slid cleanly across home without running around Navarro, I don't know why there was a review in the first place

He was standing on the plate until he got the ball and at that time actively hampered the runner's ability to get to the plate.

The runner wasn't even near the plate though when navarro was catching the shorthop though, he started his slide as soon as Navarro got the ball in his glove

Think there needs to be some rewording to that rule... Such as no blocking the plate without the ball provided the runner has begun his slide! Something to that effect ! Fack I was a catcher play it like I did 3 feet up the line and allow the runner to slide between your legs ! Tko the runner across the face with the tag !
