Jays:

• Hutchison gave up one run over six innings in his only career start against New York, a 4-1 Toronto victory May 17, 2012. Jeter and Teixeira were the only current Yankees to face him in that contest.
  
• Yesterday's game was the 2nd shutout by Jays pitchers so far this year! The first coming on Wednesday when Mark Buehrle maintained a shutout for 8 2/3 innings.
  
• With his double in the eighth inning, Blue Jays center fielder Colby Rasmus snapped an 0-for-14 skid. Ryan Goins snapped an 0-for-13 hitless streak with a double in the second inning.
  

 

Yankees:

• Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter enters play on Thursday with 3,318 career hits, good for ninth place on baseball's all-time list. He needs one hit to tie Paul Molitor (3,319) for eighth place on the all-time list, and fourth place on the American League all-time hits list.
  
• Sabathia has gone 9-1 with a 2.58 ERA in his last 11 starts against Toronto. He threw eight innings and gave up three earned runs in a 5-4 home victory over the Blue Jays on April 27 in his lone matchup with them last year. Sabathia allowed homers to Bautista and Brett Lawrie in that contest.
  
• Jacoby Ellsbury has gone 6 for 9 from the top of the order in the series, but New York's 2-6 hitters went 0 for 18 on Saturday and were 1 for 11 with runners in scoring position.

I'd use Steamer RoS(U) updated every series. The (U) version inlcudes the stats to date + RoS projections.

I'm all for sitting Lind against the nasty lefties, but CC throwing high 80's doesn't qualify imo. He should be in there in games like this, at least for a few months at which time it can be reevaluated.
