vic city Verified Member Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Can we trade Gose + Sierra + Pillar for a real 4th OF?
HASHTAGYOLOSWAG Verified Member Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Can we trade Gose + Sierra + Pillar for a real 4th OF? What an extremely dull short term move that would be.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I am so confused by the Santos hate in this thread. Sure he had one subpar performance and seemingly got squeezed into a walk tonight. Does no one remember how amazing he was last year? Tired of seeing the continuous posts about how he never has a clean inning, i can't trust him, etc.

The stuff is undeniable but the control is definitely not on the level of a Janssen. He nibbles too much. That slider is just filthy. Throw it consistently for strikes and you've got a gem.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Go back to his CWS days before he got injured with us then, sub 3 FIP over 110 innings with 11+ k/9...
vic city Verified Member Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 The only way we keep Santos beyond this year is if either he or Janssen have Mariano Rivera like seasons. If it's Janssen then he'd walk as a free agent. If it's Santos then his option would be a steal.

Not saying I dont like Santos. He just makes me nervous. Most of the hate tonight was directed towards Gibbons anyways. Buehrle should've been given the chance to finish the game.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 It is awesome to see another 1200+ post GDT! That's 3 straight! I hope we reach this tomorrow too, then I predict there's going to be a huge spike for the home opener

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Morrow vs. Archer tomorrow. Can we finally win a series in Tampa? Possibly.. the Rays offense has been pathetic.. not even a HR yet. And when they can't draw walks, they can't win.

Their lineup filled with solid guys. Longoria really needs to be the guy.

Archer scares me, I have a feeling that we will have to keep Tampa under 3 runs to win that one

Same, I can't wait to see McGowan!! He was my favourite pitcher before he got injured :/ Opener might drop , lots will be at the game From this board? I don't know about that, but I'm speculating that some more people will bump into this board and there's going to be an increase of traffic... could be just a hunch
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I'd take Santos over Janssen or anyone else in our bullpen any day. Please tell how f***ing sweet that slider is
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I'd take Santos over Janssen or anyone else in our bullpen any day. Ya im not sure why there were people panicking like that. Did they not watch him at all last year???
flafson Verified Member Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I'd take Santos over Janssen or anyone else in our bullpen any day. Problem is, he doesn't seem to have anything other than that slider which gets him into trouble often. If i recall right, he tried to close in 2012 and pressure got to him and he got hurt.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 His fastball looked good tonight he just kinda got squeezed a couple pitches in a row
Tuco Verified Member Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Pressure got to him made him get hurt? What? He also has a top notch fastball to boot. His fastball command sucks tho.
