kgm1 Verified Member Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Info is from March for 2014 Reimold was out of options even this year Pillar still had at least one, but we used one this year and may have been his last? Reimold was out of options which is why the O,s had to release him after his DL slot was up. They opted to go with Pierce who was killing it at the time. Reimold has some talent but can't stay healthy. Good RHB on the bench and 4th OF IF you have two CFs starting. I have to believe Pillar has an option left. I know he is no hell and I have never been a Pillar fan but he is all we have at this point.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Seriously people, chill out! It was 1 game. ONE!!!! There will be 161 more. Everything that could have went wrong did go wrong. Reyes injury, Dickey unlucky outing, and Goins getting stuck unprepared against one of the best LHPs in the game. I believe in this team. They can get the job done. Now everyone join me and ditch the freaking out after one game. Seriously. It's time to take a step back and relax. Big picture. We're set. Seriously people... CHILL OUT!!! Two f***ing years ago the s*** really hit the fan. After one of the most devestating opening days in team history the fanbase gave up... since then 1. WE WON A f***ING DIVISIONAL TITLE followed by the "BAT FLIP" 2. REYES IS GONE. Now we have Tulo!! 3. Ryan Goins?? He's OK. He helped us win a division title. 4. RA Dickey?? Forget about him. We skip him now. Seriously. It's time to calm the f*** down. I believe in this team. Big picture?? We're set! JSFIP where are you man?? The fans could use you.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Anyway it's time to step back and relax. Big picture. We are defending division championships... 2 games back of a second consecutive division title, and 2 games UP on the kittie cats for at least a wild card. We're set! Holla back if you are out there JSFIP!!!!
JSFIP Verified Member Posted September 12, 2016 Author Posted September 12, 2016 Olerud, I'm always around my friend. And guess what... I COMPLETELY agree. Look at the position we're in. Everything has worked out nicely. Was it a tough weekend against the Sox? Yep. But do I have faith in this team going forward? Absolutely. We're in great shape to win the division and make a playoff push. The Sox bats have to cool down sometime. Why not start now? I'm in it for the long haul. LET'S. GO! Once again, big picture. It was one series. We are good to go.

Shapiro was going to fire AA... then for PR reasons (after division title), offerred to neuter him instead. Whatever, AA is gone. We all got so many of our dreams to come true... 1. AA is gone 2. Reyes is gone 3. Dickey is being skipped. 4. Goins is a bench player. What else is there?? Just a march to the playoffs and then world series.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Why is everyone handing Pillar a roster spot? He's 26 before the season starts, and our best guess is that he's about neutral defensively and on the bases and probably 20% below average offensively. Lol a gem from BTS
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Just win tonight JSFIP... what is up?? You lookin' in?? It would be great to hear from you even if it is just a few words.... I am trying to keep calm but it is hard. I live in New York and watch the YES network. They are preparing for the fan appreciation day massacre. "The Yankees win, The Yankees!!!!!! The baby bombers have swept Toronto for the second time this month!!!!" How can we stop them?? How can we keep calm??
Praxis Verified Member Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 As bad as September has been so far, I'm keeping calm due to three reasons: i) It's baseball and it's streaky. This is the first prolonged slump we've been in since April; s*** happens. ii) 3-8/4-9 sucks, but astoundingly we are still 2 games up on the competition for a wild card spot and only 2 games behind Boston. We can hardly play any worse and we are still in a great position. iii) Fundamentally this team hasn't changed except that Shatkins has significantly added to our depth during the season and in the last few weeks. I believe on paper at least we are well primed to make another good run at the playoffs and go multiple rounds again like last year. Having said all of that, I reserve the right to panic if this is still going on next week.

And then he is silent and we return to implosion. I am a bit scared that "New York*" know he is a calming influence so silenced him somehow.

Because he is there till Pompey shows up and Gose needs a platoon partner. he gets the space till a trade happens. Love this insight.......
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Seriously people, chill out! It was 2 games. TWO!!!! There will be 3 more, plus PLAYOFFS after that. Everything that could have went wrong did go wrong. Bats cold, Orioles hit a big homer at the right time, bullpen a bit tired, and Goins having to play a game because of the Travis injury. I believe in this team. They can get the job done. Now everyone join me and ditch the freaking out after one game. Seriously. It's time to take a step back and relax. Big picture. We're set.
