ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Today's questions Is J.A Happ the next Jamie Moyer?? Will Gose/Pillar surpass Mullinucks/Iorg as the greatest Jays platoon of all time?? Today's bold prediction There will be no meaningful games in July because the Jays will be too far ahead. I don't know if I am calm anymore. Holy crap young man, calm the f*** down!
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 5 game win streaks against teams like Boston and Oakland make me supremely calm Make that 6...you must be zen like now.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Long season - marathon and not a sprint - lots of ball left - its still early - cream will rise to the top - you cant win a pennant in May YA YA - all true and I get all that and not popping any corks, but this is a lot more f***ing fun to watch than 2013 started out, so I'm going to enjoy every last detail of every game while I can! Go Jays.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I'm pleased that my 84 win projection may be a tad pessimistic.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Your preseason prediction of 76 wins is in serious trouble. Hi CHP My preseason prediction was 82. Just bumped my prediction. If you want to post on the calm thread you gotta be cool... no stirring things up. If you want to claim that this poster said this or that poster predicted that you gotta do some research and make sure they did. Cause otherwise you're gonna stir everything up and get people un-calm.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Everyone just calm the f*** down. The wisdom of JSFIP now in my sig. Calm the f*** down everyone. Where is JSFIP by the way?? CHP seems to be gloating for him. To bad Ryan Goins isn't rearing it up then Gruber could be talking some smack.

This offseason I want to make sure I state an opinion about whatever happens. Just so when I start bitching I've something one way or the other before it all went down. " So maybe you changed your forecast since then. I wasn't liking them much preseason ( after liking them on Sept. 30th ), but two weeks into April I was encouraged by Hutch and Bautista and was back to believing they could take this division.

I probably was overly pessimistic as last season ended. 82 was my call at the end of March. If they beat that by 15 I won't complain.

I wonder what the numbers are for the year so far.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Everyone take some f***ing Valium please. I am still completely calm. I'm just pondering some hypotheticals. At what point do we start to focus on individual goals instead of the pennant race?? The pennant race is the most important thing. It is a team game and there is no "I" in team. That being said we don't want to end up winning the pennant by 25 games then looking back at missed opportunities for some cool individual goals. So at what point do we... 1. Start giving Buerhle extra starts so he can win 30?? 2. Keep Jansen out of some save situations to protect his 0.00 era?? 3. Hit EE leadoff to give him extra at bats so he can challenge Maris (and maybe Bonds!!) ?? Think team. Stay calm. Don't get ahead of ourselves. However if the boys totally blow open the pennant race and make it a joke, it would be smart for Rogers to start focusing on these individual goals to keep interest and T.V. ratings high.

Every night before I turn in, I kneel down beside my bed and pray to Olerud that I may retain my level of calm. Unlike your false gods, Olerud tends to his flock diligently, and for those who have faith, calm is their just reward. -is calm-

SAAviour Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Considering we won 21 games in May 2003 and didn't make the playoffs I am going to fight to stay calm as best I can, but it's becoming very difficult. For instance, yesterday after the win I texted a friend "f***in playoffs"!!! - forgive me olerud for I have sinned.
