Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Jose Fernandez 3 scoreless 6 K's The young talent is the future (Dickey trade)
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Jose Fernandez was a Marlins product. And we'll be able to trade for him within 2 years, when the Marlins are forced to trade him because of Jeffrey Loria being a cheapskate.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Lol Got anything smarter to say than that???
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Got anything smarter to say than that??? Rhetorical, right? lol
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 BTW, here's an interesting factoid about Price: With Jose Molina: 2.67 ERA Lobaton(now in Washington): 3.86 ERA Hanigan: TBD.. Price sure does well when Molina catches him..
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Rasmus and Lawrie make a case for cautious optimism. Neither had a hit and they combined for 3 Ks but I was impressed by their approach. Lawrie especially Despite the results the process looked good
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 See? That's almost sigworthy ... though nothing compares to gruber92 wondering aloud if 0.7 WAR is replacement level. Lick it.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Lind will be back in the lineup tomorrow, with a righty on the mound. I wonder if Thole will even still be around tomorrow after this game..
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Have you seen his strikes/balls ratio so far? 49 strikes, 8 balls. That's insane!
LunchBox Verified Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Lawrie especially Despite the results the process looked good I was more impressed by Rasmus, Price is nasty L vs L. During his AB in the 9th, Lawrie still looked susceptible to the slider low and away vs RHP.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Lind will be back in the lineup tomorrow, with a righty on the mound. I wonder if Thole will even still be around tomorrow after this game.. But the problem is you gave him the job, after 1-2 games you change your mind? What does that say? It says you had no clue way you were doing in the first place Rightly or wrongly, Thole may get another few weeks to redeem himself But he shouldn't have been here in the first place
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 We weren't expecting to win the opening game anyway guys. Hutch will give a solid start tomorrow and we'll win 4-2. The Rays offense is nothing special, just don't walk anybody. They scored all their runs on Dickey and Jeffress ,big deal. Lets see what they can do against Hutch and the rest of the pen. I still say we split the series.

admin Site Manager Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 A lineup that includes Goins, Navarro, Thole, Izturis. lol Nice job building a contender AA.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 A lineup that includes Goins, Navarro, Thole, Izturis. lol And yeah, we got all of that ON THE FIRST DAY Awesome
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I agree. Especially when Moore pitches later this week.. his peripherals(mostly the BBs) worry me. And Buehrle doesn't walk anyone, so we'll have a shot on Wednesday. Remember, this Rays team was #1 in walks last year. To beat the Rays, DON'T WALK THEM! Also, Price dominates the AL East, especially us (14-2), Baltimore (7-2), Boston (10-6), and the Yankees (9-4). Just don't have him pitch in Texas(2-4).

I think we were all shocked that Reyes played in Montreal, dumb decision from management. Good starts from the rest of the staff will get the team playing scrappier. Tampa was never a favorite place to play, as everything seems to always go wrong there. I'm interested in seeing what April will bring.

It says you had no clue way you were doing in the first place Rightly or wrongly, Thole may get another few weeks to redeem himself But he shouldn't have been here in the first place Well the explanation AA gave is they liked Kratz but with Dickeys first 2 games in a dome, where the ball moves "a lot more" , they were scared to death of a repeat of last years JPA opening day passed ball jamboree. Good start and all that. Assuming the plan was to bring Kratz up shortly after that. Makes some kind of sense I guess.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Settle down......I know you're winning, but stop getting ridiculous........Seriously? I wasn't even thinking about the bet, seriously.

Half of those knuckeballs in the first 3-4 innings didn't move AT ALL JP coulda caught those! (well, the ones that weren't being hit off the outfield wall anyway)

havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Stop it retard, she doesn't like you, especially when you live in a crack infested city. You tell em Spank!
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 my god if only there was a free agent shortstop available that could also play 2B
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Well I just watched 80% of this game, what a train wreck lol. Switched over to Marlins - Rockies.

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Hutch came up to sign some autographs and he said "I gotta sign quick, I don't have long" and I was like "Hey Drew, could you sign my ball" And he took my ball and I was like "Thanks man" and Drew was like "Yeah no problem man" You live in Florida??
