Back when they signed him I wrote something about "I can't wait for JPA to start talking about the Jays...and he will".

I honestly hoped that it would be more like "no one ever told me that a strikeout was a bad thing". Rather than the one thing we honestly believed that the Jays had "fun in the clubhouse". In case no one else has noticed JPA is actually down to number 3 in the Rangers depth charts as Soto is recovering from his surgery Chirinos has passed JPA.

Not to take away anything from previous Jays catchers, but...

It's fun to know that the pitch is usually going to be blocked. It's exciting to think our catchers have a greater than 25% chance of getting on base. I have fun knowing that if a ball thrown home skips, it's no longer an insurmountable task to catch it and apply the tag.

I've missed that the past couple of years, and it's exciting to get back to that.

It's fun knowing the ball won't sail into center field on a steal.

I actually liked JP, until the last year or slightly longer...and this makes me feel like an idiot.

What a horrendous player. The guy should learn to shut his mouth. I hope he gets sent to triple A.

lol God that is so true on the 1-2 hoppers to the plate. So many botched plays from throws from RF.

This is a classic and the lasting memory I'll have of JPA

BA, OBP, same thing.

In JP's case, they pretty much are haha. I think you need to actually walk for your OBP to be substantially different than your average.

I met him at a bar downtown once in his rookie season, he was a super chill dude. Not sure why he turned into such a butt-hurt douche. He also blocked me on twitter last year because he didn't like my "negativity" with the club.

As if Cordero in the late innings wasn't scary enough.... jesus. Remember the two deadly years of Rauch/Frank Francisco and the year of the Cordero? Holy crap.

Do y'all remember this? http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=21279723&c_id=mlb&topic_id=vtp_budweiser

It's probably the hardest I've laughed at the Jays, my goodness I was laughing like a maniac lol

The bigger error was Rasmus thinking he was gonna gun Trout.

Dunno about that. Rasmus probably thought maybe because he was in very shallow CF.

JPA had absolutely no chance at getting that base runner taking the extra base, and the risk of doing what he did, that was no way worth the throw.

I think I figured it out.

JPA seriously think he has an 80 arm. He thinks he has a machado-like arm.

I don't think there is any other explanation.

You have to be in the mind of JPA. He can make 9 bad throws that cost runs, if the 10th one is on the money he thinks he's AWESOME.
