G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 In terms of how you're assessing the back end the rotation right now, is there one spot available or are there two spots available? WALKER: We're looking at it as one.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 Yeah he said repeatedly they (AA?) want Happ in the rotation. And of course they do. They're paying him like a #5 MLB starter, not a reliever or AAA starter. But I don't know...

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 Wants and needs have a funny way of never matching up. Yep. And it's too easy to overlook problems when you, as the GM, desperately want someone to perform.

I wish I had a million dollars, but looking my bank account every ten minutes wont make it happen. have to actually put something in to move in the right direction.

AA eventually cuts ties with failures, but sometimes 0.5-1.0 seasons too late
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 AA eventually cuts ties with failures, but sometimes 0.5-1.0 seasons too late Bumfiasco played way too many games last year. over the last couple of years AA has used a lot of really s***** players hoping to squeeze gold out of a dung heap.

And yet wouldn't let Farrell play Hechavarria because he didn't want his trade value to drop
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 It was interesting that they mentioned that they plan to throw a lot more off-speed pitches this year, and it's a point of emphasis this spring. Also said Morrow is 30 pounds heavier this year than at this point last year, and it sounds like it isn't fat that he added. Walker really speaks glowingly about Hutch and Stroman. I get the impression that they would get the #4 and #5 slots if he had his way, but AA wants to go with Happ + one of them.

THis is a fine idea as long they can throw the fastball for strikes and let the offspeed pitches play off it.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 THis is a fine idea as long they can throw the fastball for strikes and let the offspeed pitches play off it. Yep. And Hutch seems to have such good control...
Convo Verified Member Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 They've invested a lot in Happ and have received nothing in return. AA looks bad sending him to AAA. Exactly. f*** Happ man..... srsly the guy is a bum.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Use Happ as long man if anything. AA wants him to start to pad dem stats and trade him.
