vic city Verified Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Except it isn't an overreaction. The FO downplayed his injury last year too, saying he would only miss a week or so. Well he ended up missing over a month and when he came back, he sucked. The guy is made of glass, just like Morrow He's played 275 MLB games and missed 96 due to injury in his 2.5 years of MLB service. The kid is still 24. Calm down.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 The kid is still 24. Calm down. Exactly. He is only 24 and he is already fragile as f***. He has been injured each of his 3 seasons so far, and these things generally don't get better. Plus he is missing some important development years.

JFD Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 maybe he should start taking care of his body and stop drinking that piss red bull stuff.
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 maybe he should start taking care of his body and stop drinking that piss red bull stuff. I'm sure he's getting injured because of red bull.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Why not rush him back for the 6th spring training game? Every game matters this year AA, but can you handle losing a couple games with the Kawasaki's of the world to get your top dogs healthy?

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Lawrie has averaged 116 (125+107) games played in the last 2 years if you take out the 43 he played in 2011. Evan Longoria has averaged 122 games played in the last 3 years (133+74+160). Not that different, but let's face it, this team badly needs Brett Lawrie to break out or come close to his potential very soon.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 This is ridiculous, who wants to bet returns on Sunday turns into a month or so If last year is any indication re Jays reporting injury times, I'm just hoping he's back by Opening Day.

His missed time in 2012 really hurt them. Few teams are that dependant on one guy in the lineup. His 2013 was killer. 160 games and 7 WAR. Beauty.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 Lawrie back to lineup today
