BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Jack Z has denied any issues with Walker, so that trade's out of the question. http://gregjohns.mlblogs.com/2014/12/10/zduriencik-denies-club-has-issues-with-taijuan-walker/ And as for that rookie CF in Washington, Michael Taylor needs more seasoning in AAA(only 52 ABs in AAA last year) plus Span is owed $9M in 2015, plus Washington probably would prefer Taylor (and Goodwin) to be insurance in AAA for 2015, considering they traded prospect Steven Souza Jr. to Tampa. And Sanchez is a major part of Toronto's future. So he had 1 less at bat then Pompey, what's your point. Pompey is penciled in to be are starter!
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 So he had 1 less at bat then Pompey, what's your point. Pompey is penciled in to be are starter! Pompey projects to hit better than Taylor according to MLB's top prospects lists. Until Taylor learns to hit a breaking ball and cut down the strikeouts, he's not going to be a regular for a while yet. Defensively, Taylor is ready.. but his bat needs at least another year in the minors. Pompey was already advanced for the levels he was in.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Also Harper can slide to Center and if you even read my trade, a platoon of pillar and Schierholtz can hold down the fort till the rookie is ready to go!
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Also Harper can slide to Center and if you even read my trade, a platoon of pillar and Schierholtz can hold down the fort till the rookie is ready to go! Uh.. no. Harper is terrible in CF. He can only play in the corners. And Nate Schierholtz was terrible last year. Of course, Taylor might get a chance if the Nats DFA Schierholtz, which they will likely do after spring training.

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Yeah like seriously, what a f***ing idiot. Why is he hanging around people like that? He's a millionaire for f***s sake. He's close to throwing it all away. How come you don't think its the other way around? Fool me once shame on me but you won't fool me twice. I think he's giving orders

In comparable sample size the second coming of great defense According to some on here Gose is at 981 guess he is terrible too? Or those two points save him! Lol

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 bromance! slash Stroman sounds like an annoying chihuahua I got a question, why "Mr.Buehrle" and not just Buehrle? Does stroman have Mrs.Buehrle's number saved too?
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Stroman is the fatcow of the Blue Jays clubhouse.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 What happened to Fatcow anyways? Hopefully he didn't get depressed and kill himself after witnessing my epic GDT's.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Well that was awkward For your benefit (and the benefit of any people who haven't been here long term), I'm going to just be blunt and give up the ghost here... Deadpool (offline name of The Reverend, Doctor Brandon Edward Michael Savage, Ph.D - That is not a joke, that's his (my) official name), has some serious issues with depression.. He uses humour as a mask for these issues, and is incredibly hilarious as a result. He's probably stable for the most part, but it wouldn't be ultimately shocking if he did have a bad day and end up dead by his own hand. This isn't a cry for help, this is simply an explainer for some of the jokes he may present on this forum. He finds his own depression to be incredibly hilarious, and so should you! Oh my god, the Deadpool drinking game must be going nuts right now. I'm thinking there's gotta be at least 15 shots from this post alone CONSUME!

I think he's mentally tougher. It'll be injuries or old age that gets him. Romero had the self esteem of a 12 year old girl

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Almost January, Nick Cafardo has 2015 projections.. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/12/28/despite-losses-orioles-still-perched-top-east/5owubn1HI2KQBnRQq6j90M/story.html Of course, his projections are way off.. he doesn't realize that Baltimore losing Cruz and Markakis (despite Wieters and Machado's return) is going to hurt a lot. Considering this team can't draw walks to save their life, they're going to struggle to score and get on base unless they hit consistently. And Peter Angelos already has closed his wallet.. he's not going to add more payroll, especially with significant arb raises driving the payroll to a record $126M ($115M+benefits). Yes, Boston needs an ace.. but they're already over the tax and are in a roster crunch on the 40-man with several top prospects on it being unmovable without threatening the team's long-term health, and will need to trade someone just to find room(Victorino? Craig? Nava?). So far, nobody's biting. And if Boston had money in the budget right now, wouldn't they have signed Scherzer or Shields? And they still need to DFA/trade someone to get Breslow on the roster. Yes, the Jays need bullpen help.. but why is everyone pushing us to getting top-of-rotation help?

When we signed Martin the need to get a front line starter dramatically decreased. Every starter is going to get a nice boost in production with Martin over Navarro catching. Stroman is our ace.

It's a year with a lot of top pitchers available in FA, costing money only, no prospects. Adding a front of the rotation guy like Shields allows Sanchez, Norris, and Estrada to be SP depth and bullpen help as needed. As it should be in a contending year.

Nobody will sign them at their current demands, not even big market teams, especially with concerns about durability and regression risk.

Chance at a WS likely a consideration for him, a boost for Jays chances.
