So Brendan McCarthy now has a 2.08 ERA/2.84xFIP in his 5 starts since coming to New York. This is one move they could and should have made but of course we had

Interesting line-up didn't expect Alcantara in CF!?

 

Its nice to have a guy like Alcantara that can fit into any positions. I'd almost be inclined to trade him as a 2B than use him in CF, but it would be a nice thing for a team to have a guy that can play 2B, CF, and SS in a pinch (utility a-la Zobrist)

 

Do we see a lineup next year of;

 

C - W. Castro

1B - A. Rizzo

2B - J. Baez

SS - S. Castro (traded so A. Russell can play)

3B - K. Bryant

LF - J. Lake or whoever

CF - A. Alcantara

RF - J. Soler

 

All of those guys may be ready next year. Thats a crazy young, but crazy talented roster. Just need some pitching.

They really have to trade Castro for pitching help. Sticking multiple decent defenders in the outfield just to make room seems like a waste

The League/Selig are still looking into it, or so I thought.

 

The thing I hate about MLB is that they should make a decision the day after it happens. Guys should be punished when the act is committed and not a week after the fact. And if an appeal happens you can wait another week for a ruling. Quite annoying.

That would be a great commodity(AA), secondly I doubt you see all of them up, but man, what potential.

 

Who stays down for next year? The only guy on that list lower than AAA is Russell. Should be an interesting / awesome couple of years to watch the Cubbies.

That comment still amazes me to this day. I don't know what Dunn ever did to Jaypee, or how they ended up with that in their scouting reports. It was so out of the blue and unexpected.
