Injuries not limited to the Yankees or AL Central either:

ANGELS:

CJ Wilson to DL,

Maronde DFAd,

Drew Rucinski recalled

Cam Bedrosian optioned

You can bet the Angels will be looking for an arm on the trade market ASAP. Maybe they can ask the Red Sox about Peavy?

San Diego's lost 2 in a row...they're very close to be in official sell mode imo...i'd say headley/kennedy to Angels but they've got Freese at 3rd...

Matt Garza is pissed - as the Brewers bullpen has just imploded in the 7th inning. Phillies have scored 7 runs in the 8th inning.

Part of the reason I said the NL Central is still up for grabs. The Brewers pen has been overused due to the Brewers insistence of keeping Rule 5 pick Wei-Chung Wang, preventing them from getting a Todd Redmond long-relief type in their pen, burning out their relievers. A Brew Crew loss and the Cards are only 1.5 back, Reds 2.5 back and Pirates 4.0 GB, pending the Pirates/Cards game tonight.

Of course, with the Yadi Molina injury and Brandon Phillips injury, it's anybody's guess.

you're hoping for another player to get injured?! What kind of sick person are you?!

But yees.

edit: (coming from the guy who made fun of a dead player)

Dude I'm not seriously wishing for people to get hurt

Post was obviously tongue in cheek

This is why you make trades sooner rather than later. No doubt in my mind teams like the Angels, Cards, Brewers, Reds, Pirates will all be in the market for the same players the Jays need. Oakland was smart pulling the Shark/Hammel deal last weekend.

Totally agree

Plus we needed the extra infielder like in April. It's not like AA needed more information.

Holy s***, I just realized Chris Davis has a 94 wRC+. I knew he hadn't been as good as he was last year, but I had been thinking he was still a fair bit above average.

He's not even playing everyday.

Just need Nelson f'n Cruz to go down and we can all limp in to September neck and neck

I just traded for him in the DDL, so please no.

I'm loving it.

It's funny how everyone was calling him one of the best players in baseball after last season!

I always thought his 2013 season would never happen again. I expected him to fallback to his 2012 levels, which are still solid though he's even been far worse than that. He's hitting like he was in his last years with the Rangers before they moved him...

Quintana was bent over by the home plate ump, sickening.

Boston getting the favourable calls again. Disgusting.

Can't tell. Because he's injured.

He could be another Bautista/EE. Or he could not be. But he's injured.

He strikeouts way too much.

The Angels are putting a hurt on the Rangers. Are the Rangers the worst team in baseball? Easily the worst rotation even with Darvish.

Lewis 2.1IP 13H 13ER 11ER 1HR 1K 0BB

Yeah, but they had injuries, it's ok for them to be excused.

Injuries have killed that team.

Welcome to the board!

Ah darn. I've benched Lewis for like his last two starts which were very good and decided to start him tonight in one of my dynasty leagues with 40 man rosters. UGHHHHHH!!!

O's win.. *sigh*.

On to the Mariners/Twins game.. we're only 2 back of Seattle, and more likely to catch them because they have to face elite teams like the Angels and A's. Go Twins1

Could look at it the other way by them having to face the Astros and Rangers as well. That division has 2 great teams and 2 awful teams.

Jays need to go out of the first half on a high note and play some competent ball against TB. The break gives the hurt guys 4 days to heal up more without the team having to play games. No more booted balls, no more baserunning errors, just play properly.

True, but the Astros are going to get better. They just did a number on the Rangers earlier this week. The problem is that Seattle's record is unsustainable due to it lack of offense (14th in AVG, most of their runs come from Seager and Cano, don't walk, and I expect regression from James Jones, their CF). The other issue is that Ronias Elias is approaching innings limits, Young is going to regress, and who knows what they'll get from Walker, Ramirez, Maurer.. basically, King Felix and Iwakuma basically have to carry this team.

Jays could move up on the Royals tonight. Tigers are mauling the Royals 14-2 in the 5th inning.. a well balanced attack by the Tigers. Right now, our best bets are to catch Baltimore and/or Seattle..

In 2014 it's division or bust IYAM

And we get lots of games against Baltimore in the second half

Exactly. A one game playoff is a crapshoot and you are going to have to play a better Angels team anyway. Baltimore isn't even that good of a team so you need to win the division.
