ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 How does the timing for bans work on this forum? I just checked Spanky's profile and his last post was on 10:19, so if he was banned for exactly two days, does that mean he can come back in half-an-hour ish or he has to wait till reset time (12)? He got 200 million dollars. Let's count it down meat!

Convo Verified Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 When performance drops off like this there always seems to be the inevitable declaration of some kind of "injury"
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Illich isn't unloading trucks full of cash just to watch his team get to play in the ALDS
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Yup, can't blame him...gotta take advantage while she's still around. He already got paid, now it's time to have some fun.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 He seems so competitive though... He probably does have some kind of injury, he is too good and not old enough to decline this rapidly.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Orioles bringing it against pathetic Tampa

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 The Rays suck so much. After 5 years of them being a terror, it's odd to get used to But I've said for over a year it feels like they've been walking on a tightrope. They finally fell off.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 And people are complaining the Blue Jays don't give 5+ year contracts. I was just about to say something like this. No matter how much some of the Jays moves frustrate me, this is the reason I still go to bat for AA every now and then. Say what you want about their policy on years when it comes to free agency and extensions, the Jays have some of the best contracts in the majors. When you look at the age of their roster and how many premium free-agent talents they have beyond arb-years, and the money they're making, it's insane. Almost every other team either has players that are significantly over paid, or players that are too young to have been over paid in the first place. The Jays do a pretty excellent job of managing their contracts. On a team where you have Edwin, Bautista, Reyes, Buehrle and Dickey, the biggest albatrosses on the roster are Romero making 7.5M and Morrow at 8M, two extensions that were actually excellent at the time they were signed. Everyone else is either worth the money they're making, or in almost every case, giving you an incredible bargain by monumentally outperforming their contracts. Despite the fact that he was traded, the Escobar extension was also to their credit. If the worst thing that people can come up with when they talk about the Jays front office are the moves in the 2013 off-season, that lead to what is currently a contending team, or the fact that they didn't cave in and sign someone like Choo or Jimenez over the past winter, then the organization is in much better hands than many other teams.

Will they even be able to fix this for next season?

No They increased payroll by 20M last off season and look at it...
