eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Rays lose again. Well done Oakland.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 And with Zobrist on the DL, their offense scuffling and their pitching having difficulty going deep into games, taxing the bullpen(most overworked pen in the majors thus far according ESPN) the spiral downward could get worse for the Rays. Even Cobb may not help.. since he can't hit, something the Rays need badly, as they struggle to score runs. We don't know how Cobb will pitch after that injury. BTW 1 hit, 7 walks? That's a sign of a very bad team when you walk the park and allow the opposing team to win on so few hits.
Spoonovic Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 The Rays may suck but we all know that the Jays still wont win a series down in Tampa all year.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Anyone else notice David Price has a better than 10/1 K to BB ratio but is getting BABIP and homered to death.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Off-chance no49 may have. I watch all of Price's starts! His peripherals are pretty crazy. He's getting all the swinging strikes he needs this year and not walking anyone. Velocity has averaged 95 over his last two outings too. I'm worried he'll lose a lot of goodness if the Rays trade him to a team with a bad framer though. You can tell how much he needs Molina/Hanigan.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 MLB.com: With but one hit, A's manage 3-2 win over Rays ST. PETERSBURG - It's good to be the A's right now. How good? They were one-hit Wednesday night and still won for a fifth straight time. Oakland's 3-2 victory over the host Rays, prompted by a fourth-inning solo home run from Brandon Moss and more than a little help by way of two defensive errors from the opposing side, is the club's fifth straight and 11th in its past 12 games. "It's not the easiest way to win a baseball game," Moss said. It is also extremely rare. Since at least 1913, the A's had never done it in a regular-season game, only once accomplishing the feat with a one-hit win in Game 4 of the 1974 American League Championship Series at Baltimore on a Reggie Jackson double. Moreover, Oakland is the first team to win with a home run as its only hit since the White Sox beat the Cardinals that way on June 22, 2006. "One's all you need," a smiling Bob Melvin said.

Any chance some of it is Price getting more borderline calls in his favour due to his reputation as a guy with good control? Then again, his on-field personality may hurt him a bit. LOL

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Googled for Price images and found this tidbit from a little over a year ago. Price nicknamed Giancarlo Stanton "Create a Player" because he said in baseball video games he would create monster power hitters and Stanton reminds him of the guys he would create. Well, Price is still striking batters out.. but he's also getting hit around more. Weaker defense due to Escobar (-0.7 dWAR) and Longoria (0.0 dWAR) struggling defensively, and Zobrist's injury hasn't helped, either. Forsythe and S-Rod are downgrades at 2B.

Tigers are winning the Kinsler/Fielder trade by a mile. Texas should've taken the deal with the Blue Jays for Kinsler, as Fielder is turning into a major albatross for the franchise. And if that's not bad enough, another OF is DL-bound, as Daniel Robertson got hurt colliding into Alex Rios in CF.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I think it's safe to say the 2014 Rangers have had worse injuries than the 2013 Jays
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Wandy Rodriguez DFAed. How the somewhat above average have fallen.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Wandy Rodriguez DFAed. How the somewhat above average have fallen. I would throw a team friendly minor league deal at him see if he can figure it out in AAA see what happens.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 That trade is looking even worse now. s***** luck, Fielder has been healthy his whole career. Lind to Texas?

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Everyone could see this coming with Fielder from a mile away. He has a terrible body. That contract will go down as one of the worst in professional sports history.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Last I checked they also currently have no pitching depth. Confirmed happ and lind to texas O.o
