jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Jays aren't alone with an 8 man pen right now. Yankees are joining them, as they had to call up fresh arms in Shane Greene and Bruce Billings(purchased contract) thanks to Pineda's ejection last night. Dean Anna got sent to AAA.. guess he won't be pitching any games in the majors for a while.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Don't care about his roster if he still bats his worst hitter 2nd. Question, where do you bat him? And even if he draws walks? So goins never will bat second got ya! Lol
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Some kinda ninja magic back room trade! Does not make sense either! I guess with Sam Fuld in the mix, the Twins have less of a an immediate need for a 4h OF and Wilson is more of a project (the Jays have a bunch of those anyways). Since Wilson's upside is probably sub-Mastroianni, I much prefer the Jays side of this but I can see how it could make sense for the Twins as long as their OF stays healthy this year.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Another Tommy John surgery. Anthony Andro @aandro Dr. Keith Meister saw Pedro Figueroa today. Rangers lefty has torn UCL and damage to flexor tendon. Likely to have TJ surgery next week
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Worst hitter would be based on wOBA, which includes walks. 1, 4 and 2 are the most important to have your 3 best hitters. Then 5 and 3. Then 6,7,8,9. So based on this what would be the jays optimal batting order ! Should Bautista bat lead off ?
Muck Bartinez Verified Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 That "worst hitter" can handle the bat, work pitchers, move runners over, etc. It doesn't matter what his wXYZ+ is. Suzuki is the perfect #2 hitter. If he has a terrible wOBA, he can't "handle the bat." And why would you waste an out to move a runner over? Why not get a hit move him over and put yourself on? This is why good players (possibly your best hitter) should bat 2nd.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I'm not sure why it seems like you're being a smartass, he's not wrong. Bau should hit #4. Personally I like Bau in the 2 hole. Something like this: Reyes Bau Edwin Melky Navaro Francisco Lawrie Rasmus Black Hole
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Personally I like Bau in the 2 hole. Something like this: Reyes Bau Edwin Melky Navaro Francisco Lawrie Rasmus Black Hole God damn that would be nice to see. Never going to happen, but it would be nice. Cutting down on the times Bautista comes to the plate with nobody on and 2 out would be great.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 ftfy Thanks man. But you think about it. Bau gets on at will and then you have a couple chances with Edwin and Melky to get him in. Seems to work with Votto but that's just my stupid way of thinking.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I want Lind back and hitting behind Bautista whether 2-3 or 3-4 No way I move Reyes from leadoff
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 F'n Rays clawing their way back. 9-7 Twins.

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 JFaS didn't know you were mad at me! But I would like to know why would Bautista batting first not play better then Melky? At the rate he is walking right now? Would he walk more or would teams finally be forced to pitch to him? I do like Reyes lower though. In the course of a game which batting position least effects the outcome of the game? Which spot drives in the least amount of runs? Thanks for you time.

HASHTAGYOLOSWAG Verified Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 We need to win this game IMO if we want to contend. We can't drop series to AL East teams.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Not pitching well either, as Carp has walked 4 so far.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Boston's gonna be pissed coming into the weekend series. As I said earlier, this could snowball into a sweep for the Blue Jays. We know Buehrle is due to get hit around and you have Buckholz (sp?) and Lester coming off bad starts. Bibbons looked pretty worried in the dugout, hopefully he's pissed at AA.
