Arencibia's vulnerability with the bat was his lack of bat speed, so he had to guess a lot on pitches. It's why he strikes out a lot but hits a lot of homers.

Have them both pitch, making one play first base when the other is on the mound. Alternate pitches to maximize the effect.

They should do it with Cecil and Redmond too, playing the platoon advantage.

 

The only problem is you lose the DH by moving the pitcher to another position (which is a flaw of the DH rule). So both Dickey and McGowan would have had to hit.
