G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 And we get to watch more flat Dickey knucklers go over the Rogers Centre fence this year. #lovethisteamsgm And watch Syndergaard win TWO Cy youngs over the next decade possibly.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Orioles organization is pissed that Brian Cashman pointed out that their 2012 season was lucky. Even though he's obviouly right LOL http://touch.baltimoresun.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-79487289/

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 "The last time I checked," Duquette said, "the team that gets into the playoffs is based on wins and losses." Ignorance is bliss Yep. What he says is of course true. But it obviously lulled the FO in to a false sense of security, thinking the team was better than it really was. There IS luck in any sport, but especially in baseball.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Alex Guererro 28M over 4 years and he may not be good enough to play for the Dodgers. Ouch. http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/the-gms-office/post?id=9009
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Based on the way the Mets organization treats arms, it's no guarantee. Look what happened to Harvey, Santana, Pedro Martinez, Bobby Jones, Jason Isringhausen, Bill Pulsipher, Mike Pelfrey, Phillip Humber, Anthony Young.. that organization is seriously cursed. Still, if Noah becomes a star.. that Dickey trade was bad for the Jays.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 David Cooper was DFA, go get him back!!! Absolutely. I'd like to have him in Buffalo.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Absolutely. I'd like to have him in Buffalo. He's basically Adam Lind without power. He has no defensive value, probably should only be used in a platoon if at all. He might a better hitter than Dan Johnson or at least not a significantly worse one with maybe a tiny bit of upside but I'm not even convinced of that.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Great contribution, that was also where I was like "wait a minute, this post can't be serious." That hit me when I read "But remember."

Must be pretty reasonable for the team because the MRI will likely be worse than it was for the some of the players they bailed on.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 This article on how Russell Wilson could have made the Majors made me laugh: http://espn.go.com/dallas/mlb/story/_/id/10542054/russell-wilson-baseball-career-joke In 2011, Wilson hit .229/.366/.342 with 82 SO in 62 games as a 22-year-old in the Sally. Keith Law says Wilson was a non-prospect. He's a cool guy and the two-sport dynamic is neat. But don't throw away the facts in the quest for a good narrative.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Apparently Lloyd McClendon absolutely loves Xavier Avery, and he's a favourite to make the team. I absolutely love watching this disaster unfold. Is Ackley available now?

mitchf Verified Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Can we just boycott the media? Russell Wilson was quoted saying, "Never say never" in regards to coming back to baseball. It was then twisted into an article discussing his wide range of abilities and why it helps him be so humble. It takes 10 seconds to type his name into google followed by baseball stats. Why be intentionally ignorant?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Bradley owners rejoice! Archie Bradley struck out six over three scoreless innings in Monday's game versus the Rockies. Bradley allowed one hit and walked a pair and was clocked in the 92-96 mph range with his fastball. The consensus top pitching prospect in the game, Bradley almost surely isn't going to crack the Opening Day roster no matter how well he pitches in Cactus League play, but he'll give the D'Backs a nice glimpse into the future. Mar 3 - 10:22 PM I like this!
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Where do you have Taijuan Walker? Pretty much at the same level IMO. Same age, same level of development and eerily similar repertoires. Walker has the slightly better secondary stuff, but Syndergaard has the better control.
