If Beltran gets in Larry Walker should get in. And Andruw Jones, Craig Biggio, Adrian Beltre , Paul Molitor etc... I don't think he's quite good enough.

Beltre is borderline HOF. Edgar Martinez is HOF, he was better player than Big Papi

Werent there whispers of Edgar and PEDs.. Of course Papi has those same whispers but is still good in the media's eyes because of his good personality with them

Listen.. PED guys don't get in hall. Not saying I agree but that's the case. Edgar had like 60hr entering his age 32 season.. I mean..come on..that time and everything..so obviously he was test and hgh fueled

PED?

Stupid argument by BBWAA.

Bonds - Best player a ever seen

Edgar - Best DH ever

Clemens - Best pitcher a ever seen > Big-1 or Pedro

They're or should be HOF members.

Paul Molitor was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004. Craig Biggio will also very likely get an induction in the near future, seeing as how he had the most votes in 2013, missing the hall by just 7% of the vote in his first year on the ballot.

I personally believe that Beltre and Jones are both deserving of the hall, while I think Walker definitely is. Seeing as how Beltran is being mentioned in that group of guys, I think there's enough there for him to deserve a spot as well.

I don't think any of the guys on this list are first or even second ballot Hall of Famers, but I think they all deserve to eventually get in.

I don't know about Andruw Jones' UZR fueled lines are HOF deserving..

I mean .254 lifetime hitter. 111 wRC+.. some HR totals compiled in juice era..

I wouldn't vote him in

f***ing toerag's going to do the same s*** as the old board.

Yeah, I don't want to s*** on the mods with a snarky comment, but there's no way that that guy deserves a clean slate. Should have shut Zee down right away, hope they don't repeat that mistake.

Don't worry. Enough repeat offences that he has reached "ban on sight" status.

We won't let him wreck this board too.

Enough on the topic. Back to business as usual.

How do you feel about Ozzie Smith in the hall? Just curious as his HOF credentials are essentially all defense.

It's a good question. I think during his time though (I'm almost 35 so can remember a bit) Ozzie was seen as a generational talent kind for his wizardry in the field. Wasn't about UZR. He was a very relevant piece of baseball history so I see him as a HOF guy. I don't think think of Jones in the same way.

Tony Fernandez > Dave Concepcion or/and Omar Vizquel

Andruw Jones is also the kind of guy that underachieved what he could've done. Nobody likes voting for a guy like that. He wasn't ultra relevant to his generation. I'm ok with things like that mattering when a guy is on the fence

.254, 111 wRC+ is too much to overcome in my opinion

I think Jones is going to suffer from the fact that he played so long after his elite years at a far lower level due to injury. To me, there's no question he was a hall of fame talent in his peak years.

Two of his best years at the plater where he hit 92 of his HR were when steroids were most rampant. Just don't like him. Actually I think the HOF should be reserved for obviously the generational guys like Trout, A-Rod, Kershaw.. Legends like Jeter (though I hate him so much).. And other guys like McCutchin that are elite and well known during their time.

Don't like the fence guys

What does everyone think of Vlad Guerrero's HOF chances? I got to watch him with the Expos when he came up and I went to tons of games from '98 till he left, really enjoyed that.

Vla Guerreno - awful defender

Moises Alou - Injury bugs

Obviously some of the guys I mentioned need to maintain their course but you get the gist

Yeah I know what you mean. But my point is, if you're okay with Ozzie being in the hall and he's a guy who's value was defense only (and legitimately the best ever defensively), then logically you value defense, and Jones was legitimately elite defensively while also providing big value with the bat and doing it for a decade before injuries derailed him.

When you compare jones to McCutcheon, you see Cutch with a decent edge with the bat, but very inferior defensively.

Posted
Jones was never linked to steroids, so why does he get suspicion on him?

I think it's fair to look at anyones numbers from those years and question it..for that reason, I don't like keeping Bonds/Clemens out of the hall unless you're going to just say nobody from that time gets in.

I'd say yes to Guerrero. But not first ballot.
