G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 Moises Sierra continues to hit well in the Dominican, with a .331/.401/.441 line in 136 at bats but the bad news is that Sierra continues to lack power, hitting only one extra-base hit, a double, in the last 10 games and nothing since Dec. 6. He did go three for five yesterday with an RBI. Something that is nice to see from Sierra is the fact that he has a solid walk to strikeout ratio with 14 walks and 26 Ks.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 Moises play at RD Coors Field. I might actually be OK with him as a backup OF and part time DH vs RHP But I'd be MORE ok with that if we'd done something about 2B
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 Moises play at RD Coors Field. Is he playing OF or 1B in the DWL??

Jays Verified Member Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 You mean LHP right? I'm more concerned about where he says he'd be okay with Sierra backing up the outfield.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 You mean LHP right? Oops Yep
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 I'm more concerned about where he says he'd be okay with Sierra backing up the outfield. "In house options", guys It may be all we've got
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Adam Loewen has gone to Venezuela to play ball and is 5-for-14 with three walks, five strikeouts and a stolen base in 14 at bats. Loewen is still a free agent. I wouldn't mind bringing back Loewen for depth at Buffalo.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I wouldn't mind bringing back Loewen for depth at Buffalo. I'm pretty sure I saw an article on Loewen the other day that said he signed with an NL club or something, but I can't find it now. It wasn't MLBTR.
Pete_7 Verified Member Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Unless Pillar is going to make some mechanical changes he has no chance to hit in the majors. That's just my opinion
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 20, 2013 Author Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) There's really no situation in which I'd be OK with Sierra getting significant playing time next year. He can't run the bases, is a butcher everywhere on the field, and doesn't hit well enough to warrant a DH spot. A right-handed Eric Thames with a weaker bat and better throwing arm. IMO it should be obvious to the FO that he doesn't have a major league skill set. I can't believe some of the stuff I'm starting to let myself think is "OK" Yikes Edited December 20, 2013 by G-Snarls
