z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 trade the farm for Lee AND Hamels! Just go balls deep!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 trade the farm for Lee AND Hamels! Just go balls deep! But we don't have Arencibia and his 20-25 HR power to trade anymore!!!
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Too expensive. Hamels is about to turn 30 too. 100% pass.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Cole Hamels <3 Go for it AA!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Mmmm, I dunno. G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 No way AA takes on that much salary BTW, Amaro sure loves them vesting options, eh? Doc had a big fat one too (that didn't vest)
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Lee would be much more appealing at the current moment if it was primarily a salary dump. I don't want to give up anything noteworthy for Hamels. Good pitcher but way too many dollars/years.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Hutchison + other B crap + full salary for Lee do eet?
JaysRap Verified Member Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 http://www.baseballprospectus.com/compensation/cots/national-league/philadelphia-phillies/ Hefty contracts. And... Cliff Lee - limited no-trade protection (may block trades to 21 clubs each season) Cole Hamels - limited no-trade protection
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 We can give them the main piece of the Halladay trade back: Kyle Drabek. Seems only fair.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Hamels 200M > Ervin Santana 80M
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 They really, really should trade all of Lee, Hamels, Pappelbon, Howard and Rollins They have zero chance of being even decent in 2014 Time to tear it down
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Yay or Nay? Jays get: Hamels and Lee. No money. Philies get: Aaron Sanchez, Mark Buerhle, Rickey Romero.

I don't want to give up anything noteworthy for Hamels. Good pitcher but way too many dollars/years. Hamels is a super-durable 30 year old ace on a reasonable contract. Remarkably consistent too. I'd give up half the farm. He's exactly what we need.

aselvana Verified Member Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 if the projected cap for us is around 150 m, we can only afford one of them. (im so smart) hopefully its lee
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 I'll take hamels and utley No THAT is an all in move AA wants to do it too I guarantee He will see that as his "MgGriff and Fernandez for Carter and Alomar" move
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 makes you wonder why they extended utley They have absolutely no idea what direction to go. It's ridiculous.

And even the intelligent people on the forum are clamouring for a playoff berth at the expense of a demolished team for a half decade. Saweeeeet!!!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 'Dem vesting options!
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 makes you wonder why they extended utley RAJ seems to wake up with a new direction evey single day. The guy is a disaster of a GM. Easily one of the worst, if not the worst, GM of the last decade. It's tragic what he turned Gillick's team into.
