eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Let's acquire guys who can get the ball out of the infield please. Thanks
Jays Verified Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Weren't they considering non-tendering him? Don't think he would cost that much at all. Lind + relief pitching?
SAAviour Verified Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Just claw my eyes out so I can't watch...or kill me...or make me a Red Sox fan if this happens.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Well Goins could easily be our backup infielder on the bench with Macier starting and I wouldnt have a problem with that. Probably should carry Sierra north as well to give Lind the day's off against lefties and would add a decent bat on our bench. Carroll's fine in Buffalo but please god not with Toronto day 1 Stars and scrubs will not work. The Jays have four potential four war players in the lineup in Lawrie/Reyes/Encarnacion/Bautista. What they need is competence everywhere else. If the fill the rest of the roster with garbage, the positive contributions of the core four will be cancelled out. That's basically what happened last year with three black holes LF/2B/C. They are already crossing their fingers on Melky. They already have a fringy replacement for JPA. At the very least, get a real upgrade at 2B. It's at least as important as bringing in more pitching.
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Lind + relief pitching? I'd be interested in Espinosa but not for Lind.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Rasmus could be added to the list of potential 4 WAR players. Yes that's true. Get positve value players everywhere else and you have a lineup that can carry you. That's a way more effective approach than AA's single-minded pursuit of SP.
